Does miss state have a chance with their APR to get to a bowl?

Yes, State had a very good APR. We would get in ahead of Texas.

We're second in APR among 5-7 teams. As long as two spots are available, we should get an invite

CBS released their projections earlier....They are...

Alabama- CFP
Sugar: Auburn vs. Oklahoma
Outback: LSU vs. Nebraska
TaxSlayer: Tennessee vs. UNC
Citrus: Florida vs. Louisville
Music City: Arkansas vs. Iowa
Liberty: UGA vs. TCU
Belk: aTm vs. Miami
Birmingham: Vandy vs. Tulsa
Texas: South Carolina vs. Kansas State
Independence: Kentucky vs. NC State

They do not have Miss State in a bowl game this season.

If the belk can get Miami, think there's a chance UGA could still go there. Not a single UGA fan will travel back to Jacksonville for tax slayer. Droves would travel 3 hours up the highway to Charlotte to play Richt and Miami (which we've never played before)

agreed. All about selling tickets and those two games would certainly be more attractive to the fanbases than the records might indicate

I think aTm would have a slight melt if their bowl game was against TCU for one, but then add in the fact that Kenny Trill is their QB and its magical.

you're kidding - right?

we have 11 bowl teams, which means we can fill our obligations easily

does it look like there will be a 5-7 team in a bowl this year?

this is true, although TV rankings seem to be more important now

I would think that the bowls would do everything they can to match UGA against Miami if it is possible

also would not be surprised to see a Kentucky vs Indiana matchup if it can be worked out...

There is a guarantee of two 5-7 teams in bowls this year. Could be as high as four. MSU has the second highest APR of 5-7 teams. They appear to be headed to Las Vegas or Heart of Dallas.

Texas and Northern Illinois are the other 5-7 teams that have a chance. South Alabama and ULL are the teams to watch. If one loses, Texas gets in. If both lose, NIU and Texas get in. Arizona and Armed Forces are the two bowl spots that would be open on this scenario.

The scuttle butt says that the Heart of Dallas wants North Texas for ticket sales. That puts State in Vegas. Las Vegas is against the MWC Champion.

We won't play Michigan. It will likely be OU or OK state. Sugar bowl is SEC vs Big 12

did not realize this

State would be as deserving (or more) as any of them

but I could totally see Texas making the cut, just because the Longhorns would draw a lot more eyeballs...

That Jerry Palm guy of CBS is a flipping idiot. Believe nothing this guy projects not only for bowls, but the NCAA Tourney as well. I've kept up with him for years and even called him out for it. If you're paid to do a job at least research it. State is in over Texas in every other projection except for this stupid douche's.

Outback wants SEC East team if possible so UT there. UF at Citrus last year not likely. LSU fans came in droves last time in Citrus. Fl Citrus Sports commission wants LSU's money. They will play UM (Who they have never played) or Penn State or Nebraska (Who they've never beat) The excitement of Orgeron locally will have LSU fans excited and they will travel. Sugar Bowl never wants LSU because game sellout BUT no hotel rooms sold.
