It hasn't been for a while, iirc. The Peach Bowl has been the headline NYE bowl the last several years

serious question, could I crash there if we make it?

It would end up saving me several hundred dollars so that'd be kinda cool, if the situation were to present itself.

Yes. Just a guess, as they haven't announced a time. The Fiesta Bowl is later that afternoon and the Orange Bowl is that night, and I'm guessing they want a triple-header of committee-selected games instead of having two of them go head-to-head.

I guess it makes sense not to have 2 competing for viewers, but the peach bowl has been at night on NYE for decades.

They're not going to put two major bowls on at the same time, so I'd say you're definitely right

the Liberty Bowl has been on NYE the past 4 years, it was just the day game. But it has never always been on any one given day, although it has been on NYE more than any other day since the 90s. Used to go every year with my dad growing up. Was always a fun cheap game to go to. We had two 50 yard line box seats and a parking pass for maybe 100 bucks a year

OM has to be ecstatic to see the Independence Bowl once again have a SEC affiliation.

Some thoughts:

The "SEC affiliated bowls" look really weak since most of our traditional good bowls are now part of the Playoff Committee Selected Bowls. I guess Orlando and Tampa are the best of the bunch...

I don't mind too much if a corporation sponsors a bowl and puts their name with the traditional name (for instance, the FedEx Orange Bowl), but when they get rid of the traditional name completely it is just awful (looking at you, Outback, Capital One, TaxSlayer, and Belk).

I don't like having three major bowls on Dec. 31. It was okay when there was one pretty big bowl (Peach), but to have several major bowls sucks. In general I don't want to be watching football on Dec. 31, I want to be watching football on the 1st!
