When your program is just a stepping stone to bigger and better things, coaches tend to leave.

I'd say our programs are pretty comparable. Anderson left because Arkansas was his home, and his dream job. I don't fault him for that - maybe for the way he did it, but not that he left. I wouldn't say either school is on the level of Duke, NC, Kentucky etc as far as the ultimate pinnacle of coaching jobs though.

I'm not sure if you are jealous that we have deeper pockets, more history, or are just a more attractive job overall.

No, I follow hoops religiously and have great respect for what the SEC *used* to be overall and for what its top tier teams like UK and UF are now. But you're blinding yourself not to admit that quality depth to the conference was sorely lacking last season. The SEC West in particular was an enormous shitpile and the SEC East after the top three was also not very good. As a Mizzou fan I'd feel much better about my team winning at South Carolina than I did at Oklahoma State, much better about our chances at LSU or Ole Miss than at Iowa State or Kansas State, and so on.
That said, the SEC in the past has had several years of being a really great league from top to bottom and I hope it gets back there soon. I remember the early 1990s in particular when the SEC was so full of talent - you had a future NBA all-star Allan Houston on Tennessee and he couldn't even get out of the SEC gutter cuz it was so stacked. Shaq, Jamal Mashburn, Todd Day, Lee Mayberry, Oliver Miller, Latrell Sprewell, Robert Horry, Litterial Green, Chris Jackson - talent in the league was off the chain all over back then

No divisions in basketball.

Fun Fact: Frank Haith has held twice as many college coaching jobs as Mike Anderson...and he's 6 years younger

why are you including assistant coaching positions?

Kinda how other SEC fans underestimate Mizzou football
Let's just all wait till the seasons are over to make judgements since this is our first year in the league.

Haith is like Houston Nutt at Arkansas in '98 or Ole Miss in 2008. Give him a few years to not live off a previous coach's coattails and return to Miami-level mediocrity.
