I think your perception is tainted from watching too much Anthony Grant offense. Like I said, I don't think the team will be great, but the talent level isn't as bad as you think.
Grant didn't keep our guys from being able to hit open shots, he just didn't let them take the shots. We still aren't a good shooting team. When we can run, we'll be ok. Especially with Ingram running the show. But if the opposition gets their D set up, we will struggle to score. I'm anxious to see how interested Bama's guys are on the defensive end.

They didn't have any open shots. All their shots were contested with 1 second left on the clock. THAT'S why all the guys that could shoot in high school could no longer shoot at Bama.
Now, I don't know if we have a lot of great shooters on the team this year, but there's a few that will be serviceable. Once Austin settles his nerves, he should contribute there.

I don't think the talent level is terrible, I just don't think we have a guy who can break a drought like we have in the past (even last year with Tarrant, Releford before that, etc). I think overall we will be more fun to watch and deeper this season, but we are going to have some rough stretches when we just can't score (like we did in the 2nd half vs Kennesaw).
Our offensive movement and style is much more fun and efficient, obviously. And Austin is going to be a manchild.

I don't think we really disagree on much. I just think the team will be respectable.

We play DePaul in St. Thomas on Friday. Since UK fans know everything about bball, are they any good?
I think DePaul was good back in the day. I didn't even know Oliver Purnell was gone until I looked at their wiki page yesterday.

DePaul was good when they had Mark Aguirre and Rod Strickland back in the day
They don't have anything near that now. To be honest I don't know if they've made the ncaa tournament since the 80s or early 90s

It's been a long time since DePaul has been good

Oh I do too, just think we'll probably lose a lot of grinder games.
Would love to show up and play well today.

It's been something like a decade since they've been to the NCAA Tournament. I don't have any idea what they have right now.

It's been more than a decade since we've been to the NCAAT...2004 was the last time. I was in high school...lmbo.

I know OM doesn't play today but after watching them in the first 2 games we will be another AK bubble team. Saiz has but on a lot of good weight and will be a double double machine. Averaging something like 16 points and 14 boards in 2 games. Moody is Moody and Perez is the X factor. He is 6'9 played for the Venezuelan national team all summer and played extremely well but just can't put it together in an OM uniform. If he figures it out we will be dangerous.

Wtf happened at DePaul from 86-89? I see all of their NCAA tournament stats were vacated.
