Alabama has a huge 17 days coming up. While not likely, they are a good run away from being in a conversation (though, not likely)

1/28 - vs Mississippi St
2/1 - @ Arkansas
2/4 - vs Auburn
2/7 - @ South Carolina
2/11 - vs Kentucky

Their next 5 games are @ Missouri, vs LSU, vs UGA, @ A&M, vs Ole Miss before finishing at Tennessee.

Alabama has had maybe the easiest conference schedule so far.

Yep - and it really isn't difficult even the rest of the way all things considered. South Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida only once. Road games @ LSU, @ Auburn, @ MSU, @ Arkansas, @ Missouri, @ Georgia.

Probably not a good enough team to win more than 1 (and probably 0) of @ Arky, @ USCe, vs UK.

And, while our schedule hasn't been too rough, we've beaten teams who have gone out and won tough games. Vanderbilt, State and Georgia. Bad loss to Auburn, though.

Best case is a solid finish, 18 wins and an NIT birth IMHO.

IMO Bama should be a lock for the NIT unless you start losing to the really bad teams.

If Tennessee continues to play like they have, their RPI will be in the top 30. They beat Kansas State Saturday and split their 2 games with Scar and Florida and don't lose to someone they shouldn't, they'll be in as a 10 seed.

This is possible, but depending on how conference tournaments go some of those spots will be stolen away by unlikely conference tournament champs.

If Tenn makes it in then either no surprise bids were taken or else they will bump another SEC team out, ala Arkansas. Which is ridiculous when you think that the ACC is probably going to get 11 teams in, and the SEC will struggle to get 4 in.

I think you are simplifying things a little too much re: conference affiliations.

A 19-13 type Tennessee team with a top 30 RPI and top 10-15 SOS would get in without question.

That's a tall task but conference affiliations are blown way out of proportion imo.

What? You're aware there are 10 games right?

lol.. just a small detail.

Seriously, the best I see, is a split 5-5
