I think we'll know more about Mizzou in 2 weeks, after we play Illinois in St. Louis, then go to Cali to play UCLA. Both will be good tests, and a loss to Illinois wouldn't shock me.

I kind of like how we are getting over looked. Holloway is the most underrated player in the conference, Buckner has been a block machine for 3 years now. Sharpshooter Juco player of the year Henderson is getting hot and we have played good D all year. We are going to frick up most teams in the conference.

If there's one team that has a position locked, it's Georgia at #14. They are beyond terrible. It only seems like yesterday we won four games in three days to win the SEC tourney in 2008.

A loss to the Illini won't shock me either. It will depend, IMO, on ball- handling. 13 or fewer turnovers and we win.

Should win at UCLA easily.

Will Jabari Brown be eligible for that game?

Arkansas has taken some abuse early in the year but I still think we end up in the top half of the league.

Wait, are we getting better? Or is the conference just getting worse?

Lol @ anyone laughing at Arkansas.

Sorry we play one of the toughest OOC's in the country.

Michigan will be #1 on Monday, Syracuse probably #3, and Creighton is what, #13?

I'd rather lose some tough OOC games and be better because of it than lose to say MTSU or Loyola or VCU, or Boise.

Proving to be one of the toughest OOC schedules in the country. It will help on down the road.

Powell is finally 100% right now and the offense seems to be flowing much better. We had our chances against Syracuse and we got royally screwed at Michigan.

This team will be okay and will win a lot of games in league play. The Oklahoma win looks a lot better after they beat aTm by 10 points as well.

Kentucky plays :
(9-1) Maryland
(9-0) Duke
(9-1) Notre Dame
(9-1) Louisville

Normally they would have
(9-1) Indiana
(8-2) North Carolina

on the schedule too

Sure,

AT #1 Michigan (11-0)
VS #3 Syracuse (10-0)
Neutral Site vs #13 Creighton (10-1)

Wisconsin neutral site were ranked when they played them, and Arizona State neutral site who is 9-2. Hell even our win over Oklahoma is decent, they're 7-2 and just beat A&M by double digits.

And we're a bubble team this year, Kentucky isn't, or shouldn't be.

Kentucky has a good OOC though, probably right there with ours.

1) Florida
2) Missouri
3) Kentucky
4) Tennessee
5) Ole Miss (though they've played nobody and lost to Middle Tenn, so they could actually suck)
6) Alabama
7) Arkansas (no good wins, but several competitive losses to good to great teams. They also beat OU who beat us by double digits yesterday).
8/9) LSU/Texas A&M
10) South Carolina
11) Auburn
12) Vanderbilt
13) Mississippi State
14) Georgia

Top 3 are our only sure fire NCAA bids. Tenn will probably get in. Bama is a bubble team that's probably on the NIT side. Ole Miss could get in, but their non-con is gawd awful - best OOC game is Rutgers. And no Rutgers isn't any good - so they'll need to win a lot of games in conference to get in.

I left the bottom 5 in the same order the OP had them in, but there are so many inexcusable losses scattered among them that it's hard to come up with any proper ranking. My feeling is that Mississippi St. is the king, though. Got blown out by a Texas team that lost to Chaminade and that's shooting .400 as a team. Lost by nearly 30 to a good, but not great, Marquette team. Lost to a very bad Troy team. Lost by double digits to the Providence Friars (whoever the frick they are haha). Yea, that's a bad, bad basketball team. Sorry grinders.

Just FYI, VCU is a damn good team. They went toe to toe with Duke for almost the entire game (Duke only pulled away at the very end and that was despite a very bad shooting day from VCU). Also, they've got some bigtime athletes on their team (They embarrassed Duke with their rebounding). They are not the bunch of unathletic, but well-coached overachievers you picture when you think of a highly ranked mid-major. They're much more like Memphis when Calipari was there.

I know this, they hung with some very good teams.

However, I put them in there because they pounded Bama. Wasn't even a competitive game, more of a dig at Bama than VCU.

2 Final Fours
4 Elite Eights
16 NCAA trips between 64' and 04'
Play in the Big East

Rick Pitino coached there
John Thompson played there
Billy Donovan played there

About 40 NBA drafted former players

They hired Ed Cooley in 2011 after Keno Davis failed to keep up the Friars previous history. Man I am all for calling folks out when they pad the stats but to say you never heard of Providence shows more ignorance on your part than the party you were calling out. When Texas A&M gets to the Elite Eight or Final Four then you can call out a school who has.

At least the Texas A&M women have gotten there and props to them.
