Folks will look at the tourney and say we fulfilled the narrative of SEC basketball, but that's misleading. Every team that put out an SEC team is still alive in the Sweet 16. Ole Miss beat a team they weren't supposed to, LSU pulled a choke job like none other, and the rest were fairly even matchups besides Xavier/Ole Miss. Two of those teams bounced a #1 and a #2 seed. Tough matchups.

Still, you'd like to see an upset or two.

Yep, LSU would be in the Sweet 16 right now if we had only made ONE bucket in the last 10 freaking minutes of the game. Awful time of the year to go completely cold.

Tennessee will not be on probation. We have been in recruiting purgatory for about 6 months now and we will finally get out of it when the NCAA rules on Southern Miss in the coming month or two.

No show cause and short suspension we keep Tyndall and start signing quality players.

Show cause or lengthy suspension and we fire him.

Tennessee is in no danger here.

volfan is right on UT's not going to be an any trouble. I expect Tyndall is going to get canned though, based on what I have heard from some OVC assistant coaches that I know. It sounds like some of that info got started to be leaked to vol fans last week.

South Carolina is going to have a bubble level team next season IMO. Martin really had them playing well by the end of the year and they should build on that.

I don't see how anyone can say the SEC was stronger this year than last. In fact, I've been pretty surprised at how weak its turns out the SEC was and what that might mean for Kentucky in the tournament (since they haven't played top tier competition since December).

Last year, we had 2 Final Four teams and another Sweet Sixteen Team. This year, at the most, we will have 1 Final Four team, 1 team that won the play-in game and another team that squeaked by in their opening round game.

It all starts with elite coaches. Now that we have guys like Billy Donovan, John Calipari, Andy Kennedy, Ben Howland and Bruce Pearl, I think we've made great strides with outstanding leadership.

we had tubby smith, stan heath, Jeff lebo, john brady and dennis felton.

Tubby and even Brady had way more success than the other two.

A&M has Kennedy. Get it right. We're about to assume the same position we had when we first joined the Big 12.

Top teams were not as good. Middle teams were much better and there were more of those teams. Bottom teams were even worse.
.
Overall better depth and better teams than last season top to bottom, but the top wasn't as strong.

Darrin horn left a literal dumpster fire. No defensive sets and an offense built around chucking up threes. Martin is actually coaching and you can see the offensive and defensive sets. Our d was good and we ran a decent offense. Unfortunately you need guys who can actually put the ball in the basket, and we need more of those

Hey, someone who actually watched USC last year! With the class he has coming in and the experience already on the team, USC will be in the top-third of the conference next year.
