It's unbelievable the changes from 2012 to now.
The league decided that it was time to stop being a laughing stock and they've done it. Now we have a shot to become a year in year out player nationally as a league.
Alabama - Avery Johnson (4 NBA Playoffs, 1 NBA Finals, 2 NBA Western Conference Finals, 1 NBA COY)
Arkansas - Mike Anderson (8 NCAAT, 1 Elite Eight, 2 Sweet 16s)
Auburn - Bruce Pearl (8 NCAAT, 1 Elite Eight, 4 Sweet 16s)
Florida - Mike White (1 NCAAT, 1 Elite Eight, 1 Sweet 16)
Georgia - Mark Fox (5 NCAATs)
Kentucky - John Calipari (18 NCAAT, National Champ, 5 Final Fours, 9 Elite Eights, 11 Sweet 16s)
LSU - Will Wade (2 NCAAT)
Ole Miss - Andy Kennedy (2 NCAAT, greatest coach in Ole Miss history)
Miss State - Ben Howland (10 NCAAT, 3 Final Fours, 3 Elite Eights, 5 Sweet 16s)
Missouri - Cuonzo Martin (2 NCAAT)
South Carolina - Frank Martin (5 NCAAT, 1 Final Four, 2 Elite Eight)
Tennessee - Rick Barnes (22 NCAAT, 1 Final Four, 3 Elite Eights, 6 Sweet 16s)
Texas A&M - Billy Kennedy (3 NCAAT, 1 Sweet 16)
Vanderbilt - Bryce Drew (2 NCAAT)

I would like a minute for rebuttal.

Fox isn't a bad coach. He's not a great coach and I think Georgia has a higher potential than he's going to allow. But he's not a bad coach.

Exactly. He has limitations and recruiting is pretty crappy, but under no circumstances is he a "bad" basketball coach.

Billy Kennedy is the worst coach in the league but he has tons of talent next year.

Avery has Bama fans excited about basketball again. He's also a great recruiter. Been a longggggggggg time since we've had two 5 star recruits in one class.

Better head coaches in basketball right now than football imo. Football has fallen off

100% in the head coaching department, and because of that in the everything department.

Kennedy is going to lead the Ags to the Promised Land just like Sumlin did for the football team. Oh wait.

One of the first interviews I heard with Howland after he was hired was that the Sec should be a power basketball conference. I think it's just a matter of how much we demand to be.

If we (the SEC) build it they will come. We just have to believe and will it into existence. Show those pansies from the Midwest and Northeast where the real athletes reside.

I don't think football is dropping off as much as the rest of the country is jusy catching up.

That is definitely part of it. However, the quality of coaching compared to other leagues at the bigger schools is pretty ugly. Especially compared to what the Big Ten has hired the last 5 years.
