His team's have done it more than just that one example and have only made the tourney once.

1. Cal-Clear cut
2. Howland-Long track record, great class coming in
3. A. Johnson-This may be aggressive, but I think he gets it done in a big way. Losing Ferguson hurt
4. Pearl-Excellent track record but dropping yearly, needs to take a step next year
5. Barnes-Had sustained consistent success everywhere, question is is he burnt out?
6. A Kennedy- Has really elevated Ole Miss. A little underrated imo
7. Martin - No tourney appearances in 4 years at SC but does have some success elsewhere
8. Anderson- Not been great at Arky, but still has time
9. Fox- Good coach imo but has yet to win a tourney game at UGA
10. Stallings - Deplorable job with this team to be in the First 4. Under .500 in his career in SEC play
11. B Kennedy-Better pray Stans stays forever
12. White-Never made the tourney
13. Jones-Arguably worst coach in D1
14. Anderson-Should not even be in D1

If you are talking about regular season then I agree but he has under performed in the tournament.

you can't be serious. Top 5 nationally?

I like your rankings, but Pearl probably has dropped a little bit more. This season was doomed with injuries, but even before the injuries they were very sloppy and didn't do the little things well. He also hasn't adjusted after his three years out of coaching to different rule changes (mainly hand check fouls). He is a good coach and a great motivator and hopefully will prove himself again.

please look at Martins SC record vs Mikes at Arkansas and get back to me.

That doesn't matter. Frank has done a better job.

Oh yeah? Well, then, I say "10. Rick Barnes. He has a stupid face or something."

Doesn't feel so good when somebody is doing it to your coach, does it? If you apologize, I'll consider changing my ranking. If not, you'll have to live the rest of your life knowing you could have done something about it but let pride interfere.

6 times to the 2nd weekend or further at 2 different schools. That is far better than any coach behind him on my list.

Cal, Howland, Pearl and Barnes have all made the 2nd weekend 4+ times and all have done it at multiple schools.

None in the bottom 9 have done that.

B Kennedy way way too high

He completely destroyed our program when he took over to "rebuild" it. The players he inherited where just as good as this years players.

Soon to be #1 overall draft pick Ben Simmons, top 20 recruit Antonio Blakeney, and Tim Quarterman who has been high on mock draft boards for a while until this year are starting points. Add in guys like Craig Victor and Hornsby and you are looking at a very talented roster.

Top 5 is an exaggeration, but there is no excuse to miss the tourney with that roster.

Not really arguing his rank, just has done less with more in a majority of his tournament appearances. That year he had Durant was really underwhelming.

Somehow, I forgot to keep reading after the bit about them being awful. Yeah, that was a ludicrous statement. They had Simmons and an underrated supporting cast -- actually, pretty damned decent, just overshadowed by Simmons -- but they weren't actually top 5 nationally. With a better team player as a star and more rigorous coaching, though, I'd place them in the top 10 easy. They were really good at getting everyone involved sometimes.

(More pointedly, when your leader in assists is your leading scorer, that's great. When he's a 6'10" PF, though...you have some weaknesses in the supporting cast.

I wouldn't go that far.

If you were to make a 2-deep using players from both teams (2011-2012 and 2015-2016), you'd get the following:

C - Tyler Davis (2015-2016)
F - Jalen Jones (2015-2016)
F - Danuel House (2015-2016)
G - Khris Middleton (2011-2012)
G - Alex Caruso (2015-2016)

Bench

F - Kourtney Roberson (2011-2012)
F - Tonny Trocha-Morelos (2015-2016)
F - David Loubeau (2011-2012)
F - Ray Turner (2011-2012)
G - D.J. Hogg (2015-2016)
G - Anthony Collins (2015-2016)
G - Admon Gilder (2015-2016)

You're using Jones' assets against him. I want him fired just as bad as anyone, but he does have us consistently just above par as far as SEC teams go. I'd probably take him over 4 or 5 other coaches.

Charles Barkley did a better job with yesterday's selection show than you did with these rankings OP.

Not disputing that he is not one of the Top-7, but that little historical nugget you have to admit is not as great anymore with how many games compared to the past.

Martin should be top half, but 3 is high. He's had one good season since he got here, though he had NOTHING to work with when he got here.
