1. Calipari: Coach Cal continues to lead UK to SEC titles and their dominance doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. There's not much else to say about this HOF coach except that he is extremely unlikeable.
2. Billy Kennedy: TAMU has shown great improvement over the past two years and although they lost the SEC title in OT, they were probably the SEC's best team this year.
3. Frank Martin: USC has had an impressive turnaround under Martin, nearly making he NCAA tournament this year. He has had success in the past and USC looks to be going in the right direction.
4. Ben Howland: MSU started slow, but they really did get better as the year went on and have a great outlook for future success.
5. Kevin Stallings: He has been a very underrated coach for a while. To have Vandy consistently competitive in any sport is impressive.
6. Bruce Pearl: I won't drop Pearl way down quite yet because of the circumstances he came into and the injuries/suspensions around the team this year. Pearl definitely lost control of this year's team, but he got rid of the bad apples. Based on previous success and recruiting I will keep him mid pack, but I will be very disappointed if we don't see Auburn in the postseason with the talent coming in.
7. Avery Johnson: Avery proved me wrong this year by taking over a mediocre Alabama team and producing some big wins. He was probably ahead of Pearl until he lost the commitment of 5* SG Terrance Ferguson.
8. Rick Barnes: Tennessee is in a similar place to MSU. They struggled badly in the early part of the season, but came along late. Tennessee's late season run and conference tournament performance was very impressive.
9. Andy Kennedy: I really thought that Ole Miss had an NCAA tournament quality team this year. Kennedy has had decent success, but his team's have underperformed at times.
10. Mike Anderson: I really hate ranking him so low because of his previous success, but Anderson's teams can't seem to get over the hump. They cannot win on the road and lose head scratching games at times.
11. Mark Fox: He has a similar situation to Andy Kennedy. His team's have been consistently decent, but always seem to underperform.
12. Mike White: He had a decent first year, but with the talent at Florida, he really needs to improve them soon, especially following one of the great coaches ever in college basketball.
13. Kim Anderson: Mizzou has the worst talent in the SEC and their program is in NCAA trouble. They really underwhelmed when hiring Anderson and he hasn't done much other than pull the occasional upset.
14. Johnny Jones: This was a make or break year for Jones and it was awful. LSU had top five national talent and he didn't make the NCAA tournament. His teams have been extremely underwhelming despite having lots of NBA level talent and he really needs to go.

Wife beater AK owes his career to a coke snorting, weed smoking troll.

Mike lost to Auburn at home with Cinmeon Bowers starting at point guard.

Bruce Pearl at 6 is awful
Avery Johnson at 7 is bad
Andy Kennedy at 9 (after 8 20 win seasons and an SEC Title with one of the historically bad SEC basketball teams) is bad.
Ben Howland at 4 is awful
Rick Barnes at 8 is bad

Educate yourself on AK. He's the 5th coach in SEC history to have 8 20 win seasons in the first 10 years as head coach, and was 4th fastest to 200 wins. He's doing a lot with very little.

I'm not usually all that jingoistic about the greatness of Vandy sports -- few Vandy fans are, really -- but it's good to see Coach Stallings being acknowledged for the job he's done. This season wasn't one of his better performances (we had the experience and talent to be contending for the SEC title) but I have absolutely no complaints about him over the course of his career.

The only similarities between the head coaching job at Arkansas and USC is that they're both SEC jobs. The fact that we were even on the bubble in year 4 after what he inherited is impressive. Anderson's record should be better because y'all actually have a pretty storied bball program. I like Anderson, but what Frank has done here at such a historically abysmal program is better.

When I scrolled down to the bottom of the list and saw Kim Anderson wasn't last, I downvoted.

The Kentucky game was before the injuries and Kareem Canty idiocraty.

The question you have to ask is who would have a better record this season, Calipari with A&M's roster or Kennedy with Kentucky's roster?
The answer to that question shows who is the better coach.

like that matters when that same program didnt have a practice facility until this season and was in the APR doghouse.
history doesnt mean dick to kids. shoes and shite talk. id imagine Arkansas and USC's bball records werent that dissimilar over the past 12 years or so.

Using one game is a silly metric, much better things to criticize Mike on

This. All of this. Worst ranking thread I've ever seen on here. Congratulations

These both have career bona fides. If this list is supposed to be a snapshot, we'll have to wait for them to get established at their current positions before deciding whether or not to downgrade them, imho.
