Dawgs, your new park will be open for this season? The pics I have seen here makes it look incredible. Wasn't there some issues over the "loss" of the LF bleachers as they used to be? If nothing else, just glad those 2 mountain men for you & the Black Bears have finally graduated/departed. They could knock the socks off the ball, and did so for seemed like a decade !

After last year's stinkfest I hope State lives up to preseason rankings. The schedule is brutal(USC, UCLA, OU, Oregon to name a few), but our last couple of recruiting classes have been top notch. I hope the new pitching coach, Wes Johnson I think is his name, from Dallas Baptist helps. Read an article on him and he's turned out some decent arms in the draft the last few years.

Should be strong, great starting pitching and a fantastic bullpen.

For Arkansas...pitching, pitching, pitching.
If the offense comes around, maybe another trip to Omaha.

The reconstruction hasn't started yet. It is still a few years away.

By the way the Florida posters aren't lying. They are stacked.
Still going to have big shoes to fill at 3rd base and SS. Those guys were a couple of vacuum cleaners and good offensively as well.

No, I believe most all of the money has been raised just a few more kinks to work out. Should be completed in at least 2-3 years.

We return a lot and bring in a lot. Fans are excited after last years season (50 wins, 20+ game win streak) and season tickets are sold out. A&M is probably one of about 4 teams (5 if there is a small surprise team) in the running for the SEC title which usually in turn means in the running for the nation title, but anything can happen in the tourney.

There are always more than 4 teams in the running for the league title.
Florida, LSU, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Ole Miss are always going to be in contention.
Texas A&M is certainly a great addition.
Then factor in there are always a surprise team, like a Kentucky or Mississippi State.
There are legit national programs in this league, who, any given year can win this conference.

I think it still has to approved . I'm really not sure. If it does go through, it's amazing

I think Mississippi State is the most overhyped program in college baseball, but even I can't lump them in with Kentucky.

I think A&M will be the second best team in the conference behind Florida... Did I just compliment aggie?

State hasn't won the league crown in 30 some odd years.

With baseball a month away( thank you Jesus) what is your take on your team?
Couldn't tell you a single player's name...maybe Andy Benes' kid...but that is it.

SC's hitting is going to be much better, we are bringing in 2 JUCO All Americans who earned those awards with their bats, plus the EVO Shield Canes guys we brought in last year.
I think our pitching will be about the same if not a little better than last year. We weren't ready for Montgomery leaving and Crowe getting hurt last year. Crowe and Morris are out this year as well, so we won't have dominate pitching until next year.
We started out the season hot in fielding last year, and then faded half way through, probably b/c our bats and pitching weren't consistent and then it spread to other aspects of our game. We have several new HS or JUCO All Americans who were recruited this year though, so hopefully we'll get some guys to step up and make more plays.

Arkansas' program certainly isn't built on conference titles. It is built on CWS appearances.

Look at the final standings.
27-10
29-12 (0)
27-13 (1.5)
23-13 (3.5)
22-15 (5.0)
Everyone else is .500 or below
So I would say at best 5 teams were in contention last year.

LSU may have the best pitching staff, but the worst hitting in recent years.
Isn't this the modus operandi of the Arkansas Razorbacks? Should we brush up on how best to tout Team ERAs?
