What makes you say that about Auburn? They're 6-2 vs. RPI top 50 teams and rank in the top half of most statistical categories in the league.
They've swept Florida and won 2/3 from South Carolina. Granted, they've not proven or done anything on the road...but still impressive series wins.

What blows my mind is auburn is not top 6 in any hitting or pitching statistic. But some teams just know how to win

They're #2 in doubles. So when they hit, they get at least an extra bag. They're 4th in walks, so they get good at bats.
In SEC games only though, they're 3rd in ERA. 2nd in fielding pct. 7th in batting average.

Brent Rooker is making a push for winning the SEC triple crown.
He's batting .430 with 12 HR and 50 RBI through 31 games. He hit two bombs last night vs FIU including a walkoff.

He is having a good season. Will be interesting to see where he sits in about 4 weeks playing Kentucky, Carolina, and Auburn.

At what point do people stop pitching to Brent Rooker?
Posted on 4/6/17 at 9:00 am to msu202020
They won't. He went 5/9 against Arkansas but the guys above him all struggled. Hitters above Rooker went 4/27 that weekend. There wasn't really any reason to try and pitch around him or avoid him.
Avoiding Rooker has more to do with what the guys in front of him are doing in the order versus just what he is doing. Unless of course it is a one run game late.

No one really hits the ball well behind him.... wouldn't it be better to just put him on first instead of him hitting a double or a Homerun?
BTW, Last year's SEC Batting Title winner hits in the one hole for State.

Mainieri will find himself in deep dodo if he doesnt get things turned around this weekend. This was supposed to be a championship season and it's turning into a fight just stay in contention for a NCAAT spot.

I have no issue with you guys getting things turned around.....next weekend

I wouldn't call Auburn a fraud, but they don't look as good on the eye test as their record would indicate. The team is finding ways to win close games against good teams. Time will tell if that is simply good fortune or a hallmark of this group of players.
Eta: having 2 really good starters helps for weekend series too.

Good season my arse, he is having a GREAT season and is leading the SEC in essentially in every offensive category except for runs scored.
He's having an amazing breakout season similar to your former Hawg, Andrew Benintendi couple years ago.

Im saying Arkansas had no reason to try and pitch around him because there was nobody on base from the guys above him.
In order for teams to want to avoid pitching to Rooker the rest of the season, the guys ahead of him need to get on base. That wasn't an issue against us. A solo HR isn't that big of a deal compared to a 3 run shot. Thats my point.

Definitely, hope he gets drafted and has an early pro career like Benny too. College baseball needs more top draft picks to get more people interested.

Left too many men on base in that mid-week game against UofL, but it probably didn't help that they pitched 7 guys against us and half were throwing some ridiculous off-speed stuff.
I'll at least say when UK gets down they don't quit. They just missed a golden opportunity to take #2 UofL down with bases loaded in the 9th. Hopefully they can take that momentum into the weekend against State. Especially with it being SBW.
