Serrano plays a terrible brand of baseball. Will never succeed at this level until he fires Bergeron.

All the bunts and "aggressive" base running are pathetic.

Cohen is the most overrated coach in the SEC and probably the douchiest as well

every year since 2008 kind of blends together. Hard to differentiate between the suck of Raleigh and the suck of Serrano. And to think Delmonico was fired after a 34-25 (13-15) season and 2 years removed from a CWS appearance

it just won't succeed in the SEC. he was very successful and coaches still are playing that style of baseball on the west coast. And it actually works at TDA in Omaha.

It is unwatchable to me.

I don't care if we get a worse recruiter/resume guy. I just don't want to watch whatever this is offensively anymore.

At this point, it seems like the worst thing to happen to MSU was making it to the championship game two years ago. That buys MSU an extra 3-4 years of mediocrity or worse. On paper we recruit as well as anybody. We have talent. It is the coaches' jobs to maximize that talent

Serrano gets another year
Cohen is not going anywhere, conference is so tough even elite programs will have a down year, look at LSU in 2011
Holbrook is ok too especially with the late run but USCe will be looking for a coach sooner than later if they want to keep the program elite - they should have went the sitting head coach route when all this went down

Gaspard is done! The game has changed and the Wells/Gaspard era needs to end.

Golloway being an insufferable prick on top of an average year is gonna have him on the warm/hot seat.

I thought it was widely known going in that he was an insufferable prick. But has he not put the program in a better position than when he arrived?

Though, unlike his predecessors, he can't sweep LSU with apparent ease. My God was that ever frustrating.

Childress' seat will heat up if he can't get out of the CS regional.

I love when people bring up this line of reasoning. Delmonico hasn't been hired for a paying baseball job since he was fired at Tennessee? Why?

He had a losing record in the SEC in 8 of his last 10 seasons (32 games below .500) and made the NCAA tourney 3 times. Sure, he got Tennessee to Omaha but the luck he had of sucking for 3 years and then making it to Omaha in the 4th year had run its course.

How can a back-to back title only count as one?

I honestly can't disagree with any of that.

It's impossible to replace the greatest coach your school has known; Holbrook should have waited to become the second coach after RT.

This is true; if he can ever makeit to Omaha, he's in good shape.

Maybe it's time to accept Tennessee baseball was never as good before or after Delmonico. No he wasn't a great coach, but he's had far more success than his predecessors or coaches hired since his firing. Tennessee has basically been a college baseball graveyard, and regardless of how much he let what he built slip, his worst seasons didn't even compare to how bad UT has been since.

Speaking of Delmonico not being hired since (which is actually false, he was a paid assistant at FIU for a couple years), you know what Todd Raleigh is doing now? He runs a training facility. I also wonder how marketable Serrano will be after this failure. I'll admit, I thought he was a great hire for UT at the time, as did most people.

MSU, Ole Miss, AU and Bama coaches should not be measured against the rest. The playing field is not even.
