Man ESPN is desperate for some ratings. Instead of getting out of politics, they think trolling SEC fan base is the answer.

Pretty accurate for the current season. It's Alabama and then everyone else, and Bama isn't even that good this year.

So they don't even use conference head to head to determine their rankings anymore?

I disagree and you should be ashamed of yourself :)
SEC vs ACC this year is 3-1. So the 4th best conference has beaten the "best" conference 3 out of 4 times and that makes them worse? Sounds like ESPN logic. There best team was beaten soundly by bama, their second best team barely beat a middle of the pack SEC team at home.

Are they wrong? If they go back to last season, are they wrong? The SEC isn't good except for Alabama and possibly Mississippi State.

Agreed but just because LSU defecated the sleeping quarters does not mean the entire SEC is a worse conference. We might finally be seeing more parity in the league, minus Bama. Way too early to tell.

UF barely lost to Mich with 10 players out
UGA is undefeated a beat a good ND team on the road
Auburn lost to the #1 ACC team because of QB play holding on to the ball
LSU on the road lost to the Miss St team you listed

What basis do you have to say any of this???

What?3 outta 4 vs the might ACC and AU held Clemson to its losing rushing total in 2 years.

6 teams in the top 25.Big 10 might have better top 4
teams but I would love to see those head to head match ups.You saw what happened to OSU vs OU.

Big 12?OU and OSU are pretty damn good but who else you got?TCU?Hell,VANDY just beat one of your ranked teams.
Let that sink in.

At the risk of sounding like a Tennessee fan, recruiting is still SEC dominated
Year / number of SEC schools in top 10
2017 4
2016 4
2015 5
2014 7
2013 6

No other conference is close to that.
And putting players in the NFL, the SEC dominates almost all statistics. So if the SEC is down, it is not because of talent.

LSU could actually be a pretty damn good team. They had a few touchdowns called back -- as a Gator fan watching a struggling offense there is nothing that takes the winds out of your sails than a touchdown called back. They had two.

We were winning against Tennessee 21 - 3, and they won in the second half. Teams come in flatfooted all the time, and I hate how reactionary it's become, even if this is just clickbait tRant has been this way since week 1.

Lol. That's a whopping 3 whole people from espn and those 3 people are 1, a show host and not even an analyst that's prob never played organized football in his frickin life, 2, dusty d that played def end and oklahoma so he is biased, and 3, some chick named molly. Haha I don't give a single frick what those idiots have to say at all regarding football in general, much less who they feel are the best conferences. If they all had the sec at number 1, i would still feel the same way about their opinions.

People are such prisoners of the moment. The SEC has been, is, and will always be the best conference. Until the great athletes that live in the South decide to move to schools in the North/West/East in vast numbers, the SEC will dominate.

As another poster has already said, the SEC still dominates recruiting largely because the best players are mostly in the South. And the SEC still puts the most players into the NFL. So the NFL agrees with the recruiting rankings that the best talent is in the SEC.

So the media and idiot fans in other conferences can argue all they want about this but facts are facts. Until the great athletes start moving out of the South, the SEC will dominate.

The SEC's 2nd best team last year was a team that lost five games (56-3 I know but that doesn't make them good) and got destroyed in the Sugar Bowl. This year looks similar. The days of the SEC being the best conference are behind us. It simply isn't. Everyone else has caught up.

They were never in that game. Their defense made it close.

"Good?" Ok. It was a good win but calling Notre Dame good is a huge stretch.

Indeed, great effort. Same as last year in the Auburn/Clemson game.

LSU got annihilated badly. They' should not lose to anyone in that fashion.

Two weeks of football and an entire 2016 season. The SEC was bad outside of Bama last year.
