It's the way he did it. Slowly climbing up the depth chart, not becoming the starter until the 10th game and piling up nearly 700 yards in the final 4 games

Nobody is debating his impact on LSU's 2003 season. But this is talking about "best seasons", not best stretch of games. All those other guys did their work over most if not all of a season.

He's the only other freshman running back besides Walker to be named MVP of the Bowl which locked up the national title. The fact that he put up the numbers he did while starting only a handful of games just makes it that much more impressive. Remember that he played in every game; not like he didn't contribute all season. As great as Hilliard was as a freshman(and by the way he's Kenny's uncle not his father) I'd put Vincent in at least a tie with him. Of course, Dalton was far and away better for his career. Like I said before, all of those guys are deserving of being recognized.

yep, no LSU player on the list ever played a season that finished with less than 3 losses. A real shame.

Dumb article and three equally dumb pages of responses.

None of you clowns remember Emmitt SmIth?

1341 yards rushing, 5.9 YPC, 13 TDs, 25 catches for 184 yards.

Stacy, Cobb, and Hilyard weren't fit to carry Emmitt's jock.

Michael Dyer didn't win the MVP of the BCSNC game?
