I doubt he gets Durkin. He's ours.

What was petty about my post? No way in hell would I want Muschamp as the head coach at Auburn and it seems completely desperate for any school to offer him that position

Getting Muschamp because you offered him head coach in waiting is nothing to brag about. It is an act of desperation in my opinion. The fact that is the only way you could get him shows just how much you suck
If true, it would be smart as hell for all parties involved. USC has a long history as a cellar-dweller, so they don't have quite the inbuilt expectations of lots of major programs. Muschamp is a top-notch recruiter and defensive coach, so he can have an immediate and long-term impact on the team while gradually installing his own sort of players. Spurrier is getting close to retirement, which other coaches like Sumlin and Malzahn aren't, so Muschamp would be looking at finding a new job regardless fairly soon unless he wants to be a career DC at one of those places. And USC gets a "big name" without having to deal with the vagaries and luck of the draw of a coaching search. They get a pre-established continuity, which helps a lot when recruiting. Recruits won't see the program as a place where the HC might retire at any time and leave them in flux. They'll see it as a place where the HC might retire at any time, but the next HC is already established and able to maintain the ship's course.
Also, people tend to exaggerate how awful Muschamp was. He wasn't performing acceptably by UF's Meyer/Spurrier standards, but he had some decent teams (including an 11-2 team) and dealt with some drop-off after Meyer left the program in disarray. It would be a solid move for USC if true, especially if Muschamp learns some offensive coaching at the feet of Spurrier, one of the greatest offensive minds in CFB history.

The two defensive coaches you'll want are TRob and Lawing. Those are also the two defensive coaches we want.

And head coach in waiting at SC? Why would that be a desirable incentive? Surely if he does a good job he'll lock down a way better job that that.

I've never heard from him either but surely scout has some source requirements before publishing.
Scout is owned by Fox, so I would think so, or are they known for spin?

Cocks are saying it had nothing to do with Auburn though. SOS is in his twilight years at USC and they needed to show there is a future post-SOS to their recruits.

I'd put it at 75% that TRob comes back at this point, Muschamp or not (depending on preferences of the alternate DC). 100% if it is Muschamp. That's the word anyhow.

He can land a better hc job than that right now.
