Scott Ferrall - "CBS ratings would be in the tank without Alabama football."

Birmingham is the #1 college football market in the US and by a large margin.. Without Alabama football CBS college football ratings would absolutely drop..

So before St. Nick arrived, CBS cfb rankings were in the tank, I guess ???
If some other teams (SEC or otherwise) were playing on CBS and Bama was not, the ratings would still be high.
Y'all faun all over yourselves and throw out these arrogant fantasies, when all they do is disgust rather than impress.
And oh I fuhgot, who the everloving PHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK is Scott Ferrall ???????

"ESPN's final ratings for the 2014 college football regular season are out, and Birmingham is the highest rated market for the 14th straight year. Birmingham averaged a 9.2 rating for the 74 ESPN regular-season telecasts, more than double the 4.2 turned in by New Orleans." LINK Facts.

Ratings are based on the percentage of the population turned in. New Orleans is a larger city. Add to that the fact that people down there have other things going on, rather than listen to finebaum, watch CBS, and bang their sisters.

Im sure CBS and their sponsors spend all their time and money trying to get the Birmingham market.

Apparently all they sell is Pepsi Max, Copenhagen and dental implants

If you take the population and ratings of the top 4 cities to find the total viewership it would be.

1. Birmingham 19,528
2. Atlanta 17,017
3. New Orleans 16,141
4. Knoxville 7,514

That's based off 2010 population numbers.

Again FACTS

That's odd. Because last time Alabama was on CBS (against Texas A&M), the LSU-Florida game on ESPN scored a higher rating on the day.

All 19,000 people watching the game in Birmingham is keeping CBS afloat?

I'm sure they couldn't get people to watch Florida, LSU, Georgia, and Auburn every week.

Alabama was the 2:30 game that day, LSU/Fla was a night game..

You don't think the Alabama fans switched over to watch the other games after ours was over do you?

wait....wut?

Alabama is the media darling now. Before Alabama it was USC. Before USC it was Miami. Etc. Alabama didn't invent the wheel in college football. If Alabama were to drop off the face of the earth tomorrow, there would be another team there to replace it. CBS and the rest of college football would be just fine.

Could it be because Alabama waxed dat arse and everyone turned over to see LSU struggling with a back up QB led Florida team?

A&M has brought a lot of viewers to SEC football. Where would the SEC be without Texas A&M?

Because in 2010 they switched it from Network TV (ABC) over to cable (ESPN) and has been since. Of course viewership went down when comparing networks to cable stations.
