if that's the only thing that matters then, 13-0 conference champs: Houston

did I say that? I can include the rest of the 1-loss team's resume if you'd like. although I'm sure you already know it's better than Alabama's.

I guess nobody gives a shite about what I posted. Not even an affirmation or rebuttal. I guess I didn't flame so I suck.

These losses are not even close to similar

The wins aren't either...compared to the other team. And the next post is based entirely on the assumption that Okie State beats OU.

The reason there is even a small debate is that the competing teams for the #2 slot do not have anything to compare. There is no head to head. So they go to schedule. Yes, Alabama is dominant in its wins. Yes, Alabama lost to #1 in OT at home. And based on overall talent, we all assume Bama is the second best.

But just take a glance at Okie State. They have similar margins of victory against a more competitive (according to computers) schedule. The loss to Iowa State on the road in 2 OT is awful. But they do have quality wins whether we believe it or not.

well put. I think if LSU had beat Bama by 20 points this wouldn't be an issue. and add in all the narcissism of all the media members who picked Alabama to win the SEC and the BCS title before the season, and of course you're not going to have any of these influential talking heads admit anything else. in fact, I guarantee you if it's LSU/Bama again.. the majority of "experts" will pick the Crimson Tide to win. you can take that to the bank.

I guess there wasn't zero talk then, but you can't argue that no one expected that Neb team to put up the fight it did. Texas was a 14 pt favorite. It surely was no where close to the attention being shown to the rematch possibility this year.

Unlike most of the others, you didn't say Bama absolutely doesn't deserve to go. It's a debate sure, and I can admit that. A debate I think Bama should and will win. LSU is the only team that absolutely deserves to go (assuming they beat UGA).

So I guess I feel more need to respond to the flamers who say or imply we have absolutely no right to go. That, to me, is ridiculous.

Kinda the whole point of the NCG. Putting the 2 best teams against each other.

Its questionable whether this has ever been the point of the NCG.

and to that point. If the field goal by OkSt is good and they win the game against Iowa St. are they all of a sudden better than bama?

No. And to that point the BCS and pre BCS MNC have never been about matching the 2 "best" teams its always been about the 2 most "deserving" teams.

Each poster has his/her opinions on who should play in the BCS championship. Some feel winning a conference is important. Others feel the head to head should carry more weight. Others feel just put the best two on the field. And stil others say put the two most deserving. Sometimes all of those factors equate to exactly two teams. This year, maybe, maybe not.

However, we all kicked off Labor Day weekend knowing the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 formula. We are down to the last weekend and nothing is certain except there are perhaps three teams fighting for two spots.

A debate is needed for determining #1 and #2. A debate is also needed to improve the current system, which is better than past systems. Unfortunately we may not see a debate on either. I hope LSU wins this weekend. I have confidence they'll play well on January 9, no matter the opponent.

Oh, and tl;dr.

BCS officials have actually said the purpose is to match up the "two most deserving teams."

Option A) Rip the pokes for 50 plus while holding them to under 10, making all the pundits who have stated that the SEC doesn't play offense go into hiding. Hoist crystal ball while jumping around and screaming as the crowd chants SEC SEC SEC... Option B) Get into another dogfight with Bama. Hoist crystal ball with one remaining good arm. We ain't scared, we just thought we'd get the same shake that the winner of the SEC has gotten for the last five years.

National media looks down on the SEC this year from top to bottom compared to the Big 12.

They state the SEC is top heavy while the Big 12 is better overall.

Penn State is in the teens in the rankings.
Oregon is in the top ten.

Oregon > Penn State.

WV > whatever else you had OOC

Seriously...with our schedule this year...we want a cupcake?

Baiting is old.
