All we ask is that we not play the top two teams in the East every year while Bama alum and former REC member hand picks the bottom two (UK and whoever else is going to suck the next year foe the Crimson tide. We bitched, the sports media looked at it, and it was noted and it has changed. End of story.

This is fair to LSU versus Bama but does it suck still for fans. Yes

We would like to Play Florida every year, but then make Bama at least play UGA every year and lets play both play USCe.

We need a freaking ten game SEC schedule. Maybe when it goes to 8 or ten team playoff we will get it.

To get the Roommate Switch implemented you need Espn on board saying this is what you need. They listen when the money talks.

The name "roommate switch" sounds silly. You need to brand it and then sell it.

10 game conf schedule is best but only if the champ gets guaranteed playoff access. With 9 games you will always have schedule inequalities with H@A

I'm pissed that I have to wait until 2025 to watch the Rebs play at SC.

I really hope we go to a 9 game conference schedule.

Agreed.

The guy who wrote the blog named it I guess, he got it from Seinfeld. I don't care what it's called, I just want the best schedule and this one keep all the permanent rivalries intact while ensuring that every player who stays his full 4 years, will play in every SEC stadium in his career.

I like 10 games, but only if they lengthen the regular season. 2 OOC games would be shitty. RS plan works with just 8 conference games and they can scale it so it works just as well if we expand to 16 teams.

Main thing is that people need to not be so attached to the East and West labels.

Maybe. I'm not really one for naming something like that.

Drop permanent cross division opponents! THAT is the solution. OR, let the 4 schools who insist on playing each other every year (UGA, bama, AU, Tenn) play every year and the rest of us can rotate.

& please give us this "Miracle Schedule Rotation" that allows that. &, obviously, you CAN'T SWAP Aub./Ala. with 2 teams in the East (making the East more powerful than the West).

Everyone!! THERE IS A SOLUTION!

A way that EVERY PLAYER that stays for 4 years, will play EVERY TEAM and play in EVERY STADIUM in the SEC in their career.

The Roommate Switch!

Pod A should be: Florida/Georgia/Tennessee
Pod B should be: Alabama/Auburn/LSU
Pod C should be: Arkansas/Miss./MSU/TA&M
Pod D should be: Kentucky/Mizz./SC/Vandy

That way the Big 6 can keep their rivalries while the rest of the teams can keep/leave them.
&, therefore, the rest of the schools won't bitch about DSOR or TSIO or WLOCP because they're built into the scheduling.

I'm glad this thread is still going. Fans of other schools, please show this to your pussy ADs and coaches who are afraid to play more than 8 conference games and tell them the fans have spoken.

10 game conference schedule, bitches:
6-1-3. everyone will play everybody twice within 4 years.

I still think it was driven by Miss./MSU/Vandy/Kentucky who ONLY schedule to get ~6 wins/season to be bowl eligible.

The Roommate Switch is a superior solution IMO. The only quibble I have with the version of it in the image below is that it doesn't do the home/away for rotating teams on consecutive years... I think that is an important thing that should still be done.

Without playing the series on consecutive years you don't get revenge games if you drop the first one. You'd still be done rotating through every SEC opponent inside of four years anyway and God what an improvement (over even the 12 team system) this would represent.

Looks like you could repeat the teams in consecutive years if you'ld like. I think they did the even/odd just so you would know who from your non-perm. 4 would be in any year.

It's awesome how bama fans think they led the charge in telling everyone this schedule wouldnt work when it was actually LSU. And everyone shite on LSU about it too.

But wasn't it Bama who wanted to KEEP cross-div. rivals while LSU tried to ax them?

From what I recall, when the Aggies and Mizzou joined the SEC, Bama and Tenn would only vote yes if they could keep their rivalry game. Slive would only add teams if their was a unanimous vote, and that was the only way those two schools agreed. So I think that was the driving force in keeping the permanent opponent (at least in recent years) Not a flame against those schools, they were looking out for their interests, just reporting what I remember.

It's really not that hard to understand why 6-1-1 is retarded unless you're an idiot

Go to 6-0-2 at the minimum. If Barn/UGA, Bama/UT, OM/Vandy, & MSU/UK still want to play every year, they can schedule each other as non-conference games in years where they don't meet in conference play.

& why should conf. members play a non-conf. game?

good thing, stuff like that is cyclical and we dont schedule on a year by year basis

I don't think you understand my point

other teams like their rivalry as well, besides these two games

OM/Vandy & MSU/UK just want to preserve an easier schedule for their programs. They are not concerned about a "rivalry" game.

quote:
great logic

That's truth. The SEC didn't mind seeing the UT/A&M series end in the name of earning more money. The SEC trampled on tradition when it ended the Aubrun/UF and LSU/UK series. I don't see why the SEC is interested in protecting certain traditions or rivalries now but wasn't in the past."

1 - NOBODY said a word when TN was pretty much the victor over Alabama back in the '90's.

2 - Ask MSU/UK fans. Their opinion of the rivalry is similar to DSOR & TSIO.

3 - Who said the SEC was the cause of UT/TA&M to not play anymore?

get rid of permanent cross division opponents altogether

that shite was ok with 10 teams, but not 12 and now FOURTEEN. it's absurd.

if bama wants to play UT every year for rivalries sake, make it a "non-SEC" game

same goes for UGA and AU

blow it up!
