we scored lots of points because everyone we played we outtalent by a good bit. When we play teams with good defenses our offense has struggles. Kiffin was great at calling plays to hide deficiencies but sucked at developing QB as evidenced by the fact we had three WB on campus all highly ranked with 2- 3 yrs experience under Kiffin and the 3 star kid that can't throw the ball wins out.

Sarkisian was the only head coach — when he was at USC — that flew to Hawaii to watch Tua throw

That's because he wanted some authentic Mai-Tais.

Huh. Well, that sucks.

I think we've got Chip Kelly on speed dial though.

No that's been the narrative. No one was making Hurts out to be anything other than a freshman. We were an average passing QB away from having another back to back NC.

I really don't think this is a big deal at all. as far as the college football calendar this is the best time to make a change. Bama is the best coaching job right now and Saban is the best coach- they will be fine.

Saban and Chip just don't seem like a good mix.

What about Shula coming back? He could be the HC in waiting.

Steve Sarkisian leaving Bama for Falcons amid disagreements with Nick Saban
quote:

Multiple sources have confirmed to SB Nation that after meetings with Alabama head coach Nick Saban following the Championship, the relationship between Saban and Sarkisian deteriorated amid disagreements in “system philosophy,” per one source. Both parties planned to move on following Signing Day last Wednesday, and Saban was aware of Sarkisian’s contact with the Falcons.

One source described the problems between Sarkisian and Saban as “too similar” to the relationship between Saban and former coordinator Kiffin.

“There was an effort on Saban’s part not to repeat the same problem. This wasn’t going to work out,” a source close to Sarkisian told SB Nation.

Chip Kelly makes zero sense.

He could have any head coaching job he wants in college

If it was going to happen this was the best time for it. Has no effect on recruiting and most felt he would be gone next year for a HC gig. Now we will get someone in before spring and with Saban not concern who we get.

If you promote your current Co-OC, I'd be pretty concerned.

Sucky QBs don't take teams to championships, no matter how good the rest of the team is.....

See LSU for last 6 years as an example. Take some time and process that amount of QB suckiness. We are celebrating Etling cause he shows a few times a game a real play being made by the QB.
