This is a much better job.

Same or more money, no recruiting, arguably the most offensive talent in the league, etc.

This is an offer that Sarkisian could not turn down and no one should blame him for taking it.

I cannot disagree. Just very unfortunate that it worked out this way. I said from the beginning firing Kiffin was the dumbest thing Saban has ever done. Who gives a shite where he puts his pecker? Now its biting him in the arse. I'm curious to see how he handles it. A bad move here could actually result in the first REAL set back of the Saban era.

If you're going to blatantly rip off my post, at least give me credit.

Well, that didn't take long.

Sark loses one game as OC for Saban and he's forced to leave. Saban doesn't screw around.....

That's a bit out of left field. I wonder when he interviewed, and how that never leaked out that he had?

Also, is Kelly a legit option for Bama at OC? The prevailing thought has been that Kelly hates recruiting. Bama/Saban recruit themselves, so it would be much less work on the trail for Kelly.

Depends on who Alabama gets as OC I think. Its not ideal but its not a necessarily a disaster either.

Mike Locksley will be the OC, he'd already been named co-OC.

Seriously.

If you get a promotion with less responsibility that focuses more on what you love, you take it.

He's going to be paid handsomely to not recruit and coach the best offensive talent in the league.

Agree 100%. And I know we like to vilify Saban around here but I think he sees it that way for the most part and has always advocated for his assistants when the right opportunity comes along. At the moment I can only think of one or two instances where he truly seemed pissed about someone leaving on bad terms.

Saban Text: Where are you?

Sark: I'm blackout in Atlanta

Saban: Seems legit.

Sark: Sorry meant back out in Atlanta, interviewing with Falcons.

I'm late to the party, but is Bama already running with the narrative that Saban wanted him gone?

That is a huge downgrade. Man can recruit, but he is not a good OC.

I seriously doubt Saban lets him run the offense. The Co-OC thing was a title/pay bump only IMO.

Nah, Saban pushes the coaches to recruit hard all the time, even with the program recruiting itself, you still have to appease these kids ego and make them feel special.

However, with Hurts at QB. I wouldnt mind Chip Kelly coming in for a season or 2 until he finds another gig he wants to help us get the most out of the QB we have.
