If the game doesn't get played and UF wins out while UT gets beat by BAMA then shite will hit the fan.

Honestly he should be fired regardless of if the game turns out to be meaningless or not. He botched this so bad.

The sec has major egg on its face right now.

Im glad we can at least have an honest discussion about this now. Every team other than UF should be displeased that we have a commissioner that can't get simple shite right.

Completely agree...he violated the Slive principle earlier this year and has not intervened with the NCAA when the investigators are constantly leaking shite to MSU media. So I haven't been pleased with him. Then this shite happened and his response yesterday sealed it for me. The guy is weak which is exactly what the SEC commissioner does not need to be considering the politics involved.

Alright. Yes, the game should have been scheduled for Sunday or monday. we all agree but there is more than that happening. There are 2 AD's that need to step up. This is gonna be long so I apologize but here is what you frickin do and I'll give you an example.

I run an operation. Don't own it but am one of 5 people who run it. I am responsible for the southeast. Florida is our biggest so we have 2 outfits, one in J'ville and one in Miami.
Anyway, I am down in J'ville and there is a mess in Miami with a lot of misinformation being batted about. Nobody is doing anything but pointing fingers. It happens. That's life. What do you do?
I told them to get me a flight to Miami from J'ville and I gathered the people invested in this to go with me. I told the customer to meet me in Ft Lauderdale at 10 AM the next day. When i arrived and exchanged pleasantries, I said we are not leaving here until we all understand and have a common plan moving forward. Say this with a smile.
We went through some very intensive talks, 8 hours worth but we got it fixed. Not everybody was "happy" but it was the best for all involved.

Alleva, get the hell out of BTR and get to B'ham. Tell the commish you are coming, dont ask for permission but do it diplomatically. Tell Foley you will be there but do it diplomatically. Defuse this pissing contest. Let him know you want to reach a solution. Foley, you say I'll be there. Dont be a dam part of the problem and say, nah, I have other things to do. Get your arse to B'ham like a competent leader would do WITH THE INTENTION of working this out.
Get this out of the media. The media isnt gonna help you, they're just gonna fan the flames and point fingers. Frick them. Finebaum, Kannell, Brando, whomever isnt gonna fix this. The more it turns into a soap opera the better it is for their shows. Hell, at least they're off their arses doing whats best for their own interests unlike these 2 AD's.
Being in person does two things. It eases tension. You can read the others face which you cant do on a conference. People tend to be less confrontational in person. Be diplomatic. If one doesn't work go to the next option. Be willing to listen. DO ALL OF THIS IN PERSON AND GET OFF THE CONFERENCE CALL.
It also shows the willingness you have to reach a solution and show you are reasonable. Both parties.
Foley is on his way out and you're gonna have to force him to go this route. Florida, if not Foley then send whomever will take the lead here.
Alleva is handling this like the Duke case. He's letting it play out in the media instead of drilling down and getting shite done. If not for attorneys those kids would have went to prison. Alleva did nothing but let the media portray it how they wanted and he simply defended himself instead of being part of the solution. Get off your arse and make things happen.

If you don't reach a compromise or if any party wont budge then you did all you could. It is then best to look at other options leaving nothing off the table that will benefit you and not the whole of everyone involved but that is a last, last resort.

If I'm Sankey yesterday I tell CBS to frick themselves. I work this out between involved parties and dont do stupid interviews to cover my arse.

You two frickers get to B'ham, in person and work this out. You're both acting like 2 year olds. I despise some of my customers but I smile and work towards the best common goal and I expect that from support people. I hate them when I get back on the plane but my job is for the company, not to fulfill my own personal vendetta. How these two got where they are is baffling. I wouldnt hire these children to mop my floors. Seriously. Their temperment is not how you function in an environment when there are several parties involved.

I don't know exactly what you would have had LSU do? They offered To have the game in Baton Rouge, they offered to play at any third party location, they offered to come play Sunday, even flying in and out if hotels were still full.

Nice try but it shows you play checkers when others play chess. Who has ever said that leaks have to be factual to do their intended purpose?

I assume we pay Sankey a bunch of money to do his job. I would further assume that at the top of his job responsibilities is to provide leadership for the SEC. If he's my employee, his review at the end of the year is going to be brutal. And that's assuming I let him finish the year.

Im afraid that LSU will be difficult and point to their schedule as the reason. I understand schedules...we have to play the Florida State College for Women the last game of the season ON THE ROAD. Insurance companies are now invested in this for UF because all schools have insurance policies to protect against unplayed games. While UF & LSU have to pay off OOC foes...those two could play each other and cushion the financials. Both schools have money. If you look at our home schedule this year it sux bigtime. No marquee games and the UGA game is split 50/50 in Jax.

There could a real shitstorm coming if UF doesnt lose another game and UT loses another game...the SEC rules clearlystate that winning percentage is the factor who goes to SECCG...not head to head as some think...if the teams were both 6-2 then of course UT goes, but if UF is 6-1 and UT is 6-2? the winning percentage favors UF. I think lawsuits would fly and if the SEC tried to change its rule....another lawsuit probably? It is in the best interest of the SEC to get this game played.

LSU plays an OOC game this coming weekend (S. Miss) and UF plays Mizzou. Then LSU plays Ole Miss and if they lose that game....they are going to probably be more willing to schedule with us or maybe not?

USA and Presb. will be messed with either way but they will be paid and the nonconf teams don't really matter.

You say that now, but just watch. If the SEC pulls the trigger on this, it will be 4 cancelled games that weren't made up in just 2 years. You think the already ridiculous buyouts and guarantees we pay aren't going to go up? If I were a smaller team looking at road game options, I would charge the SEC schools more since it is clear the conference will cancel games to cover mistakes.
