You get a few free passes when you win 3 championships in 4 years.

its called having fun and enjoying the win. Not like one particular fanbase who thinks its their God-given right for their team to win and they're entitled to it.

Nobody said that and I in no way even insinuated it. I said we played 60 and you guys played 59. When David fielded the kick, some of the players were lost. They didn't even try to cover the kick…

Davis being back there was no fluke.

Don't be upset. I give bama all the credit. But Auburn won the game. Out played bama in 60 mins. It was very close, just like the score

Is there a better chance of a blocked kick or a 100 yard return?

The problem is that there were two catastrophic possible results for this play...both of which more likely than the FG being good...and it's impossible to play to stop both. Either you make sure and protect the kick, or you make sure to cover the kick and prevent the return. Bama protected the kick, but Auburn made virtually no effort to block it. Two Kouandijos, Steen, Shepherd, a long snapper, a couple of tight ends and two kickers were never going to cover that kick. Hell, it probably never occurred to them that they had to until the guy was already running it out of the endzone. Only three white shirts anywhere in the picture...Steen, Vogler, and Mandell.

You're 1000% right. Auburn basically set up a punt return, with minimal rush on the kicker, while Alabama was in max kick protection mode with their FG unit. If Alabama basically had their punt coverage team along with the holder and the snapper, we would have been fine. We had Hubbard and Stinson guarding the edge, but the interior seven were all OL and two TEs.

already covered = exit strategy to Texas (the WSJ article was the first tip off. It's time for both sides to move on as it will never be the same again. Two of the worse losses in Alabama history cannot be just be erased by a new season.
