In the first game against LSU we probably outplayed them. However, we kept shooting ourselves in the foot. We were inside the 25-yard-line five times, outgained them, punted twice, and scored six points. It is almost not possible. The loss was all about what we did.

I forgive Bama fans now. Not even their coach can take a loss like a man

FWIW 2 fell short and 1 was blocked.

Saban's comments concerning playing LSU last season

That is what our player's saw the next time we played...

When our players saw the pain their teammates had after losing the first game, it gave them incentive to play harder the second game. That is what you saw in the national championship game. When the other team cannot get across the 50-yard line, there is some relentless football going on.

Taken from the 2012 Coach of the Year Clinics Football Manual

Great analysis, yet again, from Coach Saban

Not in OT they didn't. LSU made Bama look like a Junior High team in OT.
And you got inside LSU's red zone ONCE the whole game, and were promptly pushed back on the next play.
LSU had their chances too on Nov. 5 also you know:

Shepard caught a pass on the Bama 10 yard line with no one anywhere NEAR him, and just flops on the ground.
Claiborne's INT return was potentially a lot deeper into Bama territory or even a TD had he cut inside.
If Ford's left toenail is barely grazing the inside white of the sidelines in OT - it's 13-6.
We gained 148 yards rushing on Bama...

Outgained us by a substantial amount

What was it , 70 yards total ?

Set up several more scoring chances than we had. That game was lost on their kickers foot. Everyone of the field goals that kid missed were kicks that could have been made, and I am tired of hearing BS to the contrary.

You can try a fg from your own 20. It was stupid for them to try some of the field goals they did. Pro guys miss them all the time from at least the distance of two of their's.

I think what we're all getting at is that nick is a great coach but a cynical dbag who makes excuses when his team loses

Richardson missed a wide open wheel route for a touchdown by about an inch in overtime, it was a marvelous play call.

21-0...y'all are still mad 5 months later. It's ok you still have 9-6 to cling to

I think both had their mistakes in the first game! Alabama more than LSU. But, I think the whole country believed that Alabama was the better (even lsu fans) team, even though they lost... Probably why Alabama got a second shot. And is the reason LSU wanted nothing to do with the rematch.....

Yeah we need to be smarter. If Alabama loses a game, but they tell us they really shouldn't have and what we just watched with our own eyes was a lie, we should take their word for it immediately for the offchance that they play the team again in the NC game two months later.

2010 @ LSU -trickery beat us but we should've won. Since we lost Julio>pp7
2010 auburn- we let them come back because of stupid mistakes by ourselves
2011 LSU - missed 4fg with a shitty kicker. We beat ourselves.

According to these stats bama is 0-3 against bama in the past two seasons. Will bama ever beat bama again?

remember that Utah loss? blamed it on the fans

i don't recall what he blamed the ULM loss on. Maybe not ending Halls suspension in the 2nd quarter

Spot on, even though they'll never admit it

That's why they still argue to this day that "bama didn't deserve to be there" It's their coping mechanism
