Their only loss

SECCG team

NCG team

LSU would be 4th, but it gets a little stupid when you start listing a bunch of teams.

you would be retarded to do so. did you watch the game? alabama got down 20 to nothing in the first quarter and committed 3 turnover, and still should have won the game. Gave away a last drive with what would have been great field position on a stupid penalty on the punt.

A&M and Georgia were slightly tougher than LSU. True, LSU gave Alabama shite in the second half but a lot of people forget Alabama had a 14-3 lead going in to the locker room and it could have been bigger if not for an overthrown pass to a wide open Cooper. To be quite honest, the game was going as scheduled until LSU hit Alabama in the mouth late in the third. Alabama never led A&M and trailed Georgia for a large portion of the game. As for Notre Dame? Saban was just being nice...

Yeah but he's giving due to ND which is fair enough. People forget that ND did beat beat Stanford who beat Oregon. They beat OU more easily than KSU. There's a gap no doubt, but save another SEC team, they belonged there as much as any one else.

I absolutely agree, though I guess I was just going by actual difficulty in a game vs record or accomplishments...Like... is he defining "best" teams by record or "best" teams by individual skill as they stacked up against his team, team chemistry, or what was hardest to coach against.

It would be interesting to hear why he chose those teams. I'm the first to admit that sometimes scores don't reflect skill. Even if you do something like go jogging, there are days that you can run up a mountain and be light as a feather, and there are days, even if you are in good shape, that your feet feel like lead and a hill feels like Mount Everest. You still know what is a hill and what is a mountain.

Whatever,Nick. I just think this reinforces how little he thinks of LSU and is disappointed that LSU didn't implode after he left like Michigan State did.

We have 8 months and a bye week after Virginia Tech to get ready. Alabama will throw a lot at them.

Are you so dense that you did not understand that I meant it's not really surprising that he didn't mention LSU? Obviously the quote is right there, there is no debate as to whether or not he mentioned LSU. I was telling the OP that it was not surprising, as he thought it was.

"Dense" and "reading comprehension" are two other words/phrases that are terribly over-used here.

It's as if posters feel like sprinkling these cornerstones of Rant discourse into a post invariably help advance a point. Again, weird.

There was nothing in the OP that invited your opinion of what is or isn't surprising. Nor did anyone--especially the OP--ask why Saban omitted LSU's name in listing the best teams of 2012.

Of course I understood the thrust of your post. That doesn't make your forced prefatory clause "not really" anymore appropriate.

He often mentions LSU when talking about how tough the run through the SEC is. Don't get your jimmies so rustled. You're above the typical LSU rantard.

Oh the butt hurt of every other team/conference if Saban said his toughest games were...A&M, Georgia and LSU?

All SEC, truth!

sometimes in a live interview, people just say something without totally thinking it through. i'm sure, if saban had been given a scripted list of questions and had had time to read & think about it, make notes, he would have mentioned lsu.

He's being kind to ND, I think Auburn in 2012 would have played them tough as flat as they came out in that game, UGA, LSU and UF would have destroyed them IMO.
