Yeah....amazing how the LSU-Auburn heat pretty much died when Auburn got rid of Tubs.

It's only "played out" because UT has been in a slump for a few years. Like stated by others, was anyone bitching about TSIO when UT was streaking against BAma?

Some teams schedules work out better than others

They do, and it rotates on and off throughout the years. Bama just happens to currently have a weaker schedule, 2 years and prior they did not. LSU is almost the polar opposite. They have the schedule Bama had and they just finished the schedule Bama is in.

There are more teams to deal with than LSU and Bama, as far as schedule and its commical when people think they are the deciders for all others.

. But the rotation of cross divisional games would make for better games IMO.

indeed, the current problem is the odd(7) number of teams in the divisions. It needs to change, 14 teams is not sustainable. 10,12,16(4 divisions) work, 14 does not

Dude, GTFO and go back to a B1G board (athough I'm suspecting that you are really a LSU fan, and not an OSU fan). You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. In 2011 we played UF, and in 2010 we played UF & USCe. Just because we don't play one of the big 3 from the east this year or last, doesn't mean that is a normal thing.

I just think Bama vs UF or UGA night game in T Town would make for a better game than the TSIO arse raping.

UA played night games against UG in 07 and 08. Florida in 10 and 11. Played Tennessee those years too.

Anyone who doesnt see the need to add an extra conference game is really, really playing stupid. Everyone else has done it or is doing it.

Exactly. LSU fans seem to think that UT will never be competitive again. And not only did you not hear Bama fans complaining about the game when UT was beating us yearly, but you don't hear UF fans complaining now about UGA getting to play the barn, or USCe getting to play Arky.

Sorry. But just because you think our rivalry is "played out" doesn't mean that we are gonna drop it.

It's fun when you play good teams.

I honestly can't believe Bama fans still want to continue playing UT.

I mean, if you lose one game next year (to anyone) it'll be detrimental.

According to the OP's quotes, it certainly is being considered to be dropped.

eta whoops not the OP.

We did stop playing our rival about 5 years ago. They went through a time of unbelievable suckiness, and looked like they would never recover.

Sound familiar?

I don't think you did. I just don't want to be lumped in that category. I prefer watching LSU play good teams. It's hard to get excited when we play shitty conference games TBH.

No, and I agree completely. But change is not always a bad thing. And UT is horrible and will continue to be horrible. Their glory days were 15 years ago for God's sake.

LSU definitely played some weaker schedules in the past. But as you said, it rotates. But what we can say is that our cross divisional permanent has been one of the best teams in the country over the last decade. Not to mention playing Bama every year, obviously.

Agree. And I am probably one of few people who isn't against going to 16. I mean, we aren't kicking anyone out, so it's really the only option.

People said the exact same things about Bama when I was a student there. It was incredibly short sighted then, and it still is now.
