Les was on ESPN radio here today very much supporting a 9 game schedule.

My thoughts exactly. Didn't realize Auburn was our cross-division rival now.

Who's the opposition to it exactly?

Florida. They have a neutral site conference game, and a permanent home and home OOC game.

9 conference games would mean that every other year:
4 SEC home games
4 SEC road games
1 neutral site game against Georgia
@ Florida State

So they would start getting 6 home games every other season. They do not want this.

Still doesn't solve the inequity of LSU playing Florida every year.
Eliminate permanents and then let's talk

I thought it wasn't about Florida, but about who Bama played.. Y'all need to make your mind up about what exactly is "inequitable" (code for "not fair!")

An extra conference game makes it harder for coaches to keep their jobs, will screw some teams out of a home game every year, and will hurt playoff chances.

Might also keep some teams out of bowls.

9 game sched please, have permanent opponents for only REAL traditional rivalries like the pac 12 does.

It's both. Alabama's weak schedule and LSU's difficult schedule combine to form a large amount of inequity.

This is probably the best solution. Let Bama/UT, UGA/barn, and Mizzou/Arky (if they want to) keep their yearly games, and let everyone else drop theirs. The B1G will only have one cross-divisional game (IN/PU).

They also divided the divisions accordingly so that rivals were in their own division

As much as I love to see people bitch about Alabama, it's sad hearing the LSU/UF complaint when UGA & Auburn play eachother and don't complain one bit.

Especially Auburn fans with how we've match up lately, you won't hear us complain about stiff competition.

Good for him. Obviously for the big boys, they'd rather make it more fair.

LSU has always played Florida, Alabama has always played tenn, auburn has always played uga. No one bitches about it except LSU. Tenn was good and we played them, uga was good and auburn played them, LSU is good and Florida plays them. But LSU wants to bitch and cry

FIFY plus you don't hear UT complaining about playing Bama every year or Bama when UT was kicking arse and taking names. Nor do we hear Uf complain about playing LSU. LSU fans just want an easy soft schedule. Hell they'd probably schedule , Vandy, UK, Mizzo, MSST, ARK, USC , OLE MISS and the Aggies every year and THEN still bitch if they had to play UF in the SECCG.

Never thought of LSU as a fan base full of pussys until all the recent scared of UF talk.

difference is as well all know uga/au is the deep south's oldest rivalry.

uf vs lsu as a "rivalry" was created when ucsjr. and ark came in the league. it has no sentimental or emotional value to the fans.

i'd rather get a chance to play more teams from the east than see 1 different rotate onto the schedule every year.
