Saban took it upon himself to help this kid out when he had no obligation whatsoever to do so.

Bingo.

I just think its rather comical that Saban uses the same scholarship for his benefit in this instance and then will turn around and use it for his benefit to cut players and avoid them going to other schools, etc.

You realize that does not go towards his 85 scholarships right?

I do. Regardless, it is a generous act.

That's awesome. Truly, it is. And you wouldn't find me in a thread regarding them, posting in a manner intended to detract from the merits of such actions

Frankly, I'm worried that the man has lost his edge.

Agreed. The old, National Championship Saban would do this to TJ Yeldon to make room for someone that doesn't fumble. New, soft, two game losing streak Saban does it for a feel good story.

It's called sarcasm. Though extremely rarely employed on the internet, you might have heard of it.

Some LSU fans will search high and low for any excuse--no matter how pathetic or ridiculous-- to denigrate Bama

Just as Bama fans highlight relatively mundane and standard practices done by Saban as some humanitarian award winning act.

Case in point because this definitely occurs every day and I definitely advocated Saban for Time magazine Man of the Year based on this

It happens more frequently than just when your Lord and Savior does it, and this is around the 5th Gump thread celebrating it.

And every Gump I know on Facebook has posted it, shared it, and discussed the feel goods derived from it.

Rabble rabble LSU fans this and that rabble rabble

I'm sure Saban will have a few kids end up at UAB after he really processes them and all will be right in the world again

Never said we were the only team to do it. And, as I have no axe to grind, you certainly wouldn't find me attempting to detract from a team that did.

Every major school has done it at some point, I'm sure. And it's the school, btw, not the team, that makes that call, as far as I know.

People are only seeming to detract because they've used up their goodwill posts in the many prior threads. You posting this once again makes it cross over into annoying.

Saban is just padding the class rankings. Wasn't Shaw still a 4 star?

Fair enough. Honestly I hadn't seen a thread.
