Not sure what you guys want Saban to say . He doesn't want to have to play LSU with a good coach and at the same time he is setting up the BAMA fans for when he doesn't perform.

If Shula would have ever won the West or even beaten Auburn much less won a national title I don't think he would have been fired. People forget those teams were fighting to be bowl eligible. Nobody was talking about championships or even getting to Atlanta.

Saban just wants Les to stick around because he knows he's got his number.

Funny how you guys said this in 2011 and Les was suddenly the big man on campus. Four years later, Saban still owns LSU, gives his opinions freely, and Les is being forced out embarrassingly on national tv, because the LSU fans have created this illusion that they're at powerhouse and have a rivalry with their daddy Bama.

So you're saying that the LSU fans made Les have a really mediocre team?

Had did they do that, exactly?

Didn't Alabama do this very thing to get Saban?

4-9, 6-6, 10-2, 6-7, 1 ranked finish

10-3, 10-3, 8-5, currently 7-3, 2 ranked finishes with 1 year still pending.

Yep, exactly the same.

What if the headlines tomorrow read "Miles out, Saban returns to LSU, Alabama fans shocked". I know that will never happen, but at this point les isnt fired either.

I hate to see miles go, but to say that LSU cant get a good coach is absurd. The reason the 90s sucked so bad for us was because LSU refused to spend money on a coach. College football wasnt the revenue generator it is now. LSU TAF has deep pockets and some big people that they can lean on.

BTW, what else would saban say? "Yeah, fire the bum"?
Just like jimbo on his talk show when asked if he was considering leaving. What is he to say? "Yeah this place suck, im out peace bitches"?

No, Les backed himself into a corner and now he can't get out.

1. Co-DC Mallory and BDP, defense was a nightmare
2. Never developed a QB on his own staff (best QBs were a transfer and those mentored under other HC staffs)
3. *RE-HIRED* BDP for ST, kept him 2 yrs so far, and ST is an unmitigated disaster.
4. Hired two of his personal friends and now he's stuck
5. He's fallen way behind in offense. Bert and Freeze are now what I consider better coaches. It aint just Saban buddy.

The list can go on.

You guys ridiculed the hell out of the man for years, making him out to be a clueless buffoon, now all of a sudden he's great for LSU.

Sensitive much?

I've made no statement about the wisdom of replacing Miles. My post was in reply to the absurd notion that the Shula & Miles situations were in any way comparable when a 5 year old would look at each body of work and immediately see any comparison is laughable.

If it will make you feel better, I have no problem with LSU deciding to go another direction. It is risky because Miles wins, but it is pretty clear that he's probably at his max potential.
