You sound angry...you need a hug? Looking back on it, Saban did a lot for LSU and got LSU football back on track with the LSU administration and higher-ups. LSU would not be where it is today w/o Saban's influence years ago.

A serious, rational post on the Rant. I'll be damned.

Yup. But I think they had to limit their hours form understaffing

I agree, sucks they don’t have late night. Unless they brought it back recently and I’m just unaware. But post-Covid they didn’t have enough employees.

Silver Moon Cafe in BR.

I had forgotten the name! But not the place!

There is/was a little cafe in the downtown/Beauregard area. At a Y intersection. Used to see Sue Gunter there just about every morning. RIP.

Except it ignores the unpopular fact that Joe Dean was largely responsible for getting LSU football back on track - in spite of some of some of his questionable coaching hires.

Nick Saban was responsible for winning a championship, but he never would've even considered LSU without all of the work done by Dean.

One of the few people I’ve seen with positive praise for Joe Dean

There are various levels of autism. ( not saying Saban is)
Being mild on the spectrum can make someone very focused on things that they are interested in.

Think about it, the LSU AD is generally the least liked person on campus. The fans even hated Skip when he became AD. The AD gets all the blame, deserved or not.

I was in school when Bob Brodhead was AD. He really deserves a lot of credit for turning the finances around and running the AD in a more professional manner. But he got in trouble with boosters when he fired Jerry Stovall.

...not to mention the FBI.

That’s it! Loved that place.

I always wanted to talk to Coach Gunter but she sat alone with a newspaper and looked like she didn’t want visitors.

Not true regarding. Been to a signing day party with the entire staff at Chuck's Fish few years ago, but he was at Evangeline's earlier this year with Ms. Terry.

His first year they also used to take recruits to a different restaurant (wasn't there a Cafe 12 or something along those lines? maybe it was 5). We saw him eating in there with some recruits including Nick Fanuzzi and Josh Chapman

Makes sense. He’s pretty regimented and probably on the go a lot. Doesn’t he eat the same exact lunch every day with his Little Debbie?

You must be a relative of Joe Dean.

That guy was so tight he squeaked when he walked by.

It took Emmert to open up the pocketbook and get serious about the football budget.

Don't know how you could forget the big push Saban made for football facilities upgrades at LSU including a nutrition center that is nowadays taken for granted.

I know he ate at Ruffino's, as Ruffin had a few pictures of him on the celeb wall. Ruffin also told a friend of mine that Saban's wife, Terry, always ordered for him.
