Saban press conference

Summary - LSU is probably playing as well as anyone in the country. They're very well-coached. This game has significant implications, they're always ranked, and we're always ranked. Kind of a rivalry game that's always a really important matchup. Brian Kelly has done a fine job there in bringing this team along and improving each week.

Jayden Daniels is one of the most productive QB's in the country with his ability to run the ball and is an effective and efficient passer. They have really good running backs and a whole core of receivers that have 20 or more catches. Their defense is allowing around 21 points a game, which is one of the tops in the country. They're aggressive and athletic, and they've got good rushers and good corners. And have good special teams, a really all-around good team.

TTT - Well, LSU has good special teams (lately). Saban was asked about Bama's struggling running game. He explained it's due to a couple of things, Bama has to have a little more diversity in what they're doing and players have to execute it better. So we can guess LSU should expect more wrinkles in Bama's rushing attack to keep LSU's defense from keying on Saban's QB which could limit turnovers.

The idea that if you weren’t rivals in the 60s means you can’t ever be rivals has always been dumb logic

You can hate whoever you want.

Maybe things can change eventually, but outside this forum I rarely come across LSU fans, and of course the ones I do certainly don't act like the ones on the site.

I hate losing to them, but I hate losing to anyone. When Alabama isn't playing them, I don't wish bad things on them. I hope Tennessee and Auburn lose every game they ever play by 100 points.

It's just not the same.

Yeah right. Bama needs to man up and whip azz at the LOS on both sides of the ball. Sounds simple but as of today that hasn't happened.

FFS Saban also said A&M is a great team the week before that game. When are you people going to learn this shite is scripted and regurgitated every year.

I’ve heard that Alabama fans consider Tennessee and Auburn the rivals but the locker room considers LSU the rival. That wouldn’t really shock me.

Alabama Tennessee wasn't a rivalry until the 60s when Bryant got mad that he couldn't beat them at Kentucky. Alabama vs Georgia/Georgia Tech was the original rivalries if you want to play that game

Considering they raided our recruiting class the last few years I'd say that sounds accurate

I don't consider it a rivalry but it is always the most hyped game when we're good.

“This team can play really in any conference and do well... They were one of the most effective passing teams in the country a year ago. These guys are very aggressive on defense, they create a lot of negative plays, they get a lot of turnovers and they have their specialists back.”

Saban's comments about Utah State.

Why would Saban feel the need to use his entire bottle of rat poison on LSU? Praising LSU’s special teams was really where he loss the bottle.
