What else can explain how he plays the big boys tough week in and week out but has serious problems with the scrubs?

He is out recruiting instead of game planning?

His players and assistants can only take so much of his shite so they tune him out whenever possible (ie against sorry teams)?

Yes. He makes such a point of not dwelling on past success that you're almost scared to win big, because then you know he's going to be an a-hole for a whole week after that just to prove that he's about "process instead of results."

And on the flip side, he talks about how pissed off he is at the media and players' attitudes regarding lesser opposition so much that it almost becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I mean, the guy's got the right ideas, he's just a little overzealous about it, and it kind of bites him in the arse sometimes. After a while, it's got to get tiring playing for a man who's going to yell at you, even if you win, just to prove a point.

Fran is an afterthought! Yes we were pissed about him, but now that we have a coach we are very happy with Frann**** is not even brought up hardly EVER...EVER! LSU Fans are supposedly very pleased with Miles, and you would think the Saban hate would die off but it only gets worse...

Obviously there is some sort of insecurity here.

bullshite! Go to a Gump board and mention that Franchione left The Promised Land for College Station and the Gumps will go nuts. If Saban had left Bama for the Dolphins and wound up at LSU, the Klan, I mean, the Gumps would want to burn his house down. (Or, at least, throw a brick through his window a la Bill Curry- Unless, of course, the brick incident was a hoax...).

I'm a member at Scout and BOL for Alabama...and Fran is never brought up...ever. The same cannot be said for Saban here, you guys need your daily fix.

1. He didn't go from LSU to Bama. He went from MIA to Bama.

2. If we had a coach who "so say" we were all jacked up about and loved and thought the world of, then it would not phucking matter if he went to LSU. Who cares? You supposedly have someone who you wouldn't trade for anyone, so why is there this obsession with Saban?

Again...insecurity.

Yes, its true. 2 crystal footballs tend to do that to a fanbase. Wow. A gump talking about insecurity. You gumps want/need Miles to fail so badly. Its the only think that'll give you maggots some sort of worth in life. Its pathetic.

Actually...no, I could care less about LSU. If you guys truly didn't care about Bama or Saban you wouldn't flood his name on your message boards daily.

+1

Bama fans don't talk about him hardly EVER on our own boards. LSU talks about Saban more than they do Miles. It is comical.

Not half this bad. He didn't leave LSU for Alabama though. He left for the NFL. Would be a little different probably if he left and ended up at UT or AU. But for someone who brought you a BCS NC sin 1950's, it is CRAZY. Why don't you give your 1st Crystal Ball to Oklahoma if it is that bad

The obsession is that he turned out to be a liar. Not to LSU per se but to Wayne Huizenga and the entire Dolphins organization. For example, he told his coaches he was leaving by text message after telling them it was all BS. He'd been after the job since October when he saw he couldn't win without a massive talent advantage. Even the national press thought he was dishonest to an honorable man and his organization. We thought we knew the real Saban and he turned out to be nothing more than an opportunist and a manipulator. All from a man who demands loyalty. From a man who doesn't practice what he preaches. (Good luck recruiting south Florida.}

Again, for the sake of argument, if Saban had gone from Bama to LSU (even without the intervening disloyalty to the Dolphins and their fans), what would the Gumps say?
