After watching Pete Thamel's interview yesterday on Finebaum, I agree with Paul that the anonymous veteran SEC coach quoted in Pete's article is Nick Saban. Paul kept referencing the cadence of the quote as sounding like Saban. As much as Paul has been around Little Nicky, he should know. However, I went back and looked at some fiery statements from Saban on 8/6/2015, Monte Burke's Biography, 11/18/2015,Charleston Southern and I'm now convinced Saban made that statement.

That being said, if I'm Hugh Freeze, I'd be concerned about possible NCAA sanctions but I'd be terrified of Nick Saban having me in his cross hairs. With the NCAA, the possible sanctions will go away in a couple of years. Nick Saban is relentless !! It sounds like he has two priorities for the future; win another national championship & bring down Hugh Freeze and the Rebel Football Program.

Las Vegas never bets against Saban winning championships and I'm not going to bet against him bringing down Freeze and the Rebels.

Mark Emmert is allegedly one of Saban's best friends. So....

So this quote?

quote:

"[Does the NCAA] stick to their guns like they said a few years ago and hold the head coach accountable?" asked a veteran SEC head coach. "Or is the NCAA going to wipe their hands of this? If they do, it's going to turn college football into college basketball, which is a free for all. They need to make a damn statement, sooner or later."

if so, you are way over thinking

The funny thing is, college football is already like college basketball. Cheating happens.

This coach is being disingenuous as frick.

So.. what will Nick do when Ole Miss makes it three in row this year? Other than probably win another national championship, that is.

Ole Miss better watch out. When he set his sights on getting revenge against us we got one of our worst beatdowns ever.

It seems to happen whenever ole miss has a major upset. Gators can agree.

So Saban is so scared of Freeze, he is hiring former Ole Miss assistants to steal signals and bring the NCAA to our doorsteps.

So much fear in that man.

We beat him in his infamous revenge game. But the revenge revenge game we lost.

Hopefully, we win our revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge game against him this year

Yeah, that doesn't sound like Saban. Not a single "Aight" or "relative to".

Nobody can self-deprecate like a Cajun. We have it down to a science

There are some absolutes in this case

--Ole Miss should never have a "great" team . Good, yes. Not competing with Bama yearly
--Too many 5 stars from places that never considered living in MS have been signed. Beating out the likes of Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame. Yea, right.
--It wasn't like Coach "Blind Side" didnt have a checkered history to begin with. That movie, although warm and a feel good story, got people talking and cast Freeze and Ole Miss in a bad light and that is all it takes to make people question what you are doing but HOW you are doing it. NOBODY in the world believes this family just took in a kid out of the goodness of their heart. Not even Ole Miss fans down in the heart of hearts.
--Ole miss boosters threw caution to the wind and said let's do it, if we get caught, oh well, we suck anyway, we might as well suck for a reason (probation) and I would probably do the same had I been them. What fun is knowing who you're gonna lose to every year and who you're gonna beat.
--Dont F with Saban. Despite what he says about molding men, building character, etc,....NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is more important to him than winning and that is fine with me. We aren't good will ambassadors. We are a football program. generally character and morally correct people are or they aren't. Those things are molded as a 9, 10 year old. At 18, 19 20, it's too late anyway at that point. We know, Ole Miss fans know, the country knows and the world knows we shouldn't lose to Ole miss. Saban knows that too.

Even if somehow they did 3 in a row, there would be a "but" to it.
