Agree or disagree?
Eh, you could make an argument for that, I guess. None of them are getting fired, so I guess the guys who lost jobs did worse, at least for argument's sake.
Then again, the fact that his "tree" didn't do well as head coaches only speaks to how good of a coach he truly is. He can make average coaches look good enough to be hired at historically excellent programs.
Overall, a poor argument.

Damn dude. Saban went 7-6 in his first season at Bama with a loss to ULM. Might wanna cut these cats some slack.

also, I want to add that I wasn't saying Saban is a bad coach (I know you didn't imply that I said that). I admit he's a great coach. He's just not the type of guy I'd go to if I wanted to learn how to be a football coach.
At this point, I'd have to agree. Two are doing well, and three are doing poorly. Not a good indicator, however, of the three who are doing poorly none has more than two years on their current job, and, frankly, Dooley inherited the worst players in any BCS conference.
It looks ugly for the tree right now, but I think it's still too early to call. I actually think Fisher will have FSU back on top within a couple of years. Not sure yet what to think of the other two on the loser side.

This tells me something else. It's how highly regarded of a program LSU football is. Within the past 10 years, we've had 6 LSU assistant coaches become head coaches else where.

Yes, of course thats what you would take from it...

LSU didn't hire any of those assistant coaches. The Head Coaches hired those coaches. And LSU didn't teach those coaches anything. Are you serious with that bs?

You disagree that having LSU on your resume is an advantage?
I guess it's that bama mentality:
[Insert negative comment about bama]
-gump: "If you agree with that, your a moaran!!1"
[Insert positive/neutral comment about another school that could be perceived as taking something away from bama]
-gump: "If you agree with that, your a moaran@@!!"

I'd like to know how you came to that conclusion from my post.

Slightly off topic but whqt does everyone consider requirements for inclusion in a coaches tree.
For me it is at least 3 years on the staff, one promotion with in the staff, and having coached on that staff with in 5 years of coaching at that level.
The rationale that it should be a sustained period in your formative years as a coach.
(Excuse typos, on phone)

I know that the OP was a thinly veiled shot at Saban, but in reality, should Jimbo really be considered part of his tree?
Jimbo was OC at Samford and QB coach at Auburn under Terry Bowden and then had spent a year in the NFL as QB coach for the Bengals before joining Nick at LSU. I think he was already pretty well developed before joining Nick's staff so in reality isn't part fo his tree.

I don't think this is any reflection of Saban as a coach. It's not his job to get any of his assistants ready to be a head coach. Love him or hate him, you have to admit that he always puts a quality team on the field.
I appreciate what he did at LSU and don't hold a grudge for him going to Alabama after his miserable stint in the NFL.
Besides, you can't teach someone else to do what makes Saban a great coach- manage to be 5'7" 150lbs and scare the hell out of 6'5" 300+ lb players.
We've seen how that works, and I'll take Miles.

Why are yall thinking the OP is trying to say Saban sucks. To me it makes him look better. He was very sucessful with all of these coaches. maybe he was good enough to make up for their suckage.
