@McMurphyESPN: Nick Saban wants NFL Draft grades moved back. Said grades delivered on Dec. 15, so some players played not to get hurt in Sugar Bowl
Least he didn't go with the traditional, "We Beat Ourselves" excuse

Ahh the old traditional lets turn a completely reasonable idea from Saban in to an excuse for a loss.

Just because bammer morons like you would defend anything Saban says doesn't mean it is reasonable

How is that not reasonable?
I'm like 99% sure that is how it is handled by the NBA.

I'm pretty sure college baseball coaches were bitching about the same thing with the MLB draft happening in the middle of the post season.
I think it holds some water in some cases, but is still kind of a bitch thing for Saban to say. Pretty sure those players wanted to win a title at Alabama and played their hardest.

I guess it's unfortunate for Bama/Saban that Ohio State didn't have any players who received draft grades.

Do you see any other coaches using this as an excuse for losing? Frick no!
Has Saban ever mentioned it after bammer won their bowl game? I certainly don't remember it
This is hardly the first time shorty has made some bogus, bullshite excuse about losing a game

I've always thought that "playing not to get hurt" was an easier way to actually get hurt. But assuming that one can actually reduce their chance of getting hurt by playing differently, isn't that a rational decision? When you know a multi-million dollar pay day you've worked years for and have your whole life riding on is just a game or two away as long as you don't get injured, you have a huge incentive to not get injured. Playing for "school pride," a college championship, or to make your millionaire coach happy probably doesn't outweigh the millions waiting on you.

so do you guys enjoy your coach's press conference more or Alabama's press conference more?
