Too bad the SEC only gets one team in the playoffs each year
Only in rare situations as we had in 2011, where Bama got in due to losing to the #1 team in overtime by the slimmest of margins, will the SEC get a second team in the playoffs.
Due to political pressure from the U.S. Congress, non-BCS schools will be included in the 4-team playoffs. That leaves very little room for a second team from the SEC.

TAM is a perennial power?
Please educate yourself on either what the word perennial means, or TAM's all-time record compared to real perennial powers like Tennessee, UGA, and Auburn.

Being the number one football program in the SEC is about as transitional as it gets.
Other conferences have one or two perennial powers, but the SEC has 4.5. Bama, Florida, LSU, TAM, with Georgia and Ole Miss on the outside looking in.
Bama has more titles than all the rest of those teams combined.
Also, @ Ole Miss being included in that list.

Saban wasn't motivated to perfect the art of over-signing until he tasted the thrill of cutting players in Miami.
Very underrated post

News Flash: All those titles in the past won't win you anymore games.
Bama faces a lot more competitive teams in the SEC in the future. The east has been down, but that is changing, and the west is truely the wild wild west with TAM, LSU, Ole Miss and Auburn in the near future.
Just like other multi-championship teams, once they lose their 5th year QB, all bets are off for the future.

OM has one year of success on the field, and one good recruiting class and they are now in contention for the SEC West Champion? Wow, guess I should get out more

Well they also return a lot and played LSU and A&M close.

When you get out more, do take a reading comprehension course--key words: in the near future.

So I guess your definition of near is now something different!

Saban built his reputation at LSU. When he got to Bama, his name, along with Bama's tradition, made it easier to succeed than when he was LSU.

This is not a troll thread at all.
Throw this one out the mix though:

Was he not allowed to run the program at LSU the way he does at Bama?

saban had eyes for the nfl and coasted his last year at lsu. saban discovered the nfl didn't like him and vice versa. saban returns to college reenergized and realizes the nfl over his head. his success at bama vs lsu has nothing to do with bama rather has everything to do with saban and his career. he is now focused on the present and he is a better coach than he was at lsu. saban was definately still in a learning curve in baton rouge. you can, however, believe what you want. bama is no better than lsu, georgia, florida and dozens of other schools. y'all had bear bryant and y'all now have saban at the pinnicle of his career. that's it; nothing more and nothing less.

Why has Saban been more successful at Bama? Or why was he less successful at LSU? Is it the bama tradition? Was he not allowed to run the program at LSU the way he does at Bama?
I think it is a little of both.
Surprise!!! Another "Self Congratulatory Bama Thread"

What? Nothing about SEC being in Birmingham and Alabama getting easier schedules?
And we want to thank you Rebs for being apart of the equation that makes it "easier."
