Worry less about us and more about losing all your traditions to lose to Mormons at home. I'd bet those helmets have UM on them within 10 years.

Are there really people in Oxford that think Nutt can turn it around if Boone isn't in his way?

Bless their little hearts.

Lets just put it this way. Nutt is a cold for our program. A nuisance, but one we can ultimately get away from. He also solely affects one portion of our athletics and doesn't meddle with other portions of it.

Boone is cancer. He's almost impossible to eradicate and is slowly killing all of our programs in the process. If Boone doesn't resign from his post today, he is nothing more than a pile of self absorbed amphibian shite who doesn't give two flying fricks about the university. frick Pete Boone.

Similarly, here Broyles was the enabler in our Nutt-era. I totally get that.

The parallels of Nutt's time there with his first four years here are striking, but I kinda expected it.

Kinda OT but are Ole Miss fans going to sack up and take back their school or do they really just enjoy having frat parties and watching all their traditions get taken away and doing nothing about it.

Yeah, I want the flags back so we can get back to how we were in the 1980s.

The difference between Broyles and Boone IMO is Boone actually doesn't give a shite about Nutt personally as long he himself is taken care of.

However, Morris has never worked under Malzahn
Then I would call him more a student of Malzahn's office rather than a Malzahn protege. Just sayin....

The dynamic was different, but the need for change at the top was the same.

Broyles was extremely ego-driven. Look at Jerry Jones' management style. He learned that from Broyles.

We had a senile old man who wanted to coach from his office more than anything else in the world.

Nutt understood that and was savvy enough to make Broyles feel important and included. He reported to him weekly, discussed game strategy, etc. That helped him earn millions, so it was actually pretty smart from Nutt's POV.

In return, Nutt got defense from within the AD, and way more job security than he deserved based on performance. We did keep him after back-to-back losing seasons, afterall.

We've literally lost in everything though in the past year. We didn't go to the SEC or National Tournament in baseball for the first time in almost a decade, we have constant suckage in basketball (despite having a fairly good coach), we have wildly fluctuated under Boone in football while he's made constant dumb decisions, and right now we literally suck at everything athletics wise. At some point you probably need to look at the big picture, and see who the real problem is with athletics in general. Boone is the problem and should be completely eradicated from this university. If he is not gone by January of next year, I'll consider personally flying back and offing him just to do a favor to the program and the human race in general.

a stable AD is critical to hiring a good head coach. they need to know that the AD is in charge and will provide the right support to have a successful program. otherwise, you'll only attract candidates that just want the paycheck.

An added problem for Broyles was that as the Nutt thing played out, most fans started to believe that Nolan Richardson was right.

Nolan left and sued and had a lot to say about not being treated equally by Broyles. Nolan had made the comparison of how he was treated by Broyles versus how Nutt was treated. Of course, Nolan took the racial angle, and he was most likely right to a large degree. At the time of his allegations, most people just thought "angry black man".

Over the last two years of Broyles' tenure, he went from being beloved, and having 90% of fans think he was on the right side in the Nolan Richardson departure, to flipping that upside down completely.

Now Nolan is beloved again and understood. As soon as Broyles was gone, Nolan was back in the picture as a public figure and Razorback legend.

I guess it takes something like a Nutt-fiasco to make people see what a poor job the AD is doing.

Again, the parallels are striking.

if Ole Miss fires Boone will they keep Nutt? Who is on the list to replace Boone and if Nutt goes, who's his replacement. probably just speculation at this point, but what do you think? I'm an LSU fan living in Philadlphia, Mississippi, and follow the Rebs as my second SEC team.
