Rule Change

After yesterday's games, I think that the location of the ball should be what determines when a pass is made beyond the line of scrimmage. There were two plays in which the QB's back foot was all that was behind the line.
Also, I don't think O lineman should be able to block downfield at all on passing plays. That is the way I learned it a long time ago.
I also don't like the pass interference calls being made simply because a player doesn't turn his head. Should be the same contact rule either way.

Bama lost, clearly the problem is the rules of the sport, not your team

It happened in orher games as well.
Every other rule is based on ball location...why not this one?

I'm surprised you don't want to abolish ST from the game as well.

Agree 100%. The run-pass option creates a serious grey area with the linemen downfield rule. And the line of scrimmage rule clearly needs to be revised to reflect the spirit of the rule (i.e., make it where the ball is when it is released).

I agree with the premise. Should be the ball.

LSU was scored on by a similar play.
Of course, we aren't complete shite so we still won easily anyway.
But if you wanna keep crying, no one will stop you

Why is it when Bama struggles against something they propose rule changes instead of just finding a way to deal with it. Better question is why doesn't Bama put it in their playbook

I just don't think it makes sense. Has nothing to do with the loss. (But I could have guessed the response from this board)

Well I think they should eliminate Fournette. Clearly he should be against the rules.

Let's not focus on our atrocious special teams or our lack of ability to defend the pass and/or a mobile quarterback. Let's bitch about the rules instead.

We don't need any rule changes. It sure would be sweet if the rules were enforced though-- or at the very least if certain penalties could be reviewable for plays resulting in a touchdown (even if a flag wasn't thrown on the field).

I also think that teams shouldnt be allowed to take ricochet passes and run the distance for touchdowns and home teams should be allowed to receive kickoff after THEY score to make it easier to stage comeback.
