Ole Miss hasn't reached SMU level yet. This is a program that was placed on 2 years probation in 81, 3 years again in 84 and finally killed in 87. ALL of these were virtually the same offenses and SMU just kept going.
Ole Miss WILL not get the death penalty. The death penalty is only for and ONLY those that have successive probations in a 5 year period. They can't just throw out the death penalty whenever they want. Even then, I dont think you'll ever see it again. The NCAA had to scare folks and SMU was the perfect school to make an example of.

Yeah people don't really like to look at facts like those. It's easier to just say we are getting the death penalty for a first offense.

wrong. Ole Miss took Tennessee's place in the SEC pecking order a couple years ago, with a 34-3 annihilation on national tv. the whole country witnessed UTs drop from the big 6 in the SEC. so anything you might say is irrelevant.

44-20-1 begs to fricking differ. Are you serious with this shite? You've NEVER won your division. You've NEVER won 10 regular season games. Haven't won a conference title since desegregation. You have fewer all time wins against Bama then Bama has National Championships, not claimed championships, actual championships. You're the only member of the original SEC that has NEVER won conference title in basketball.

Vols are the SEC version of Penn State. Once proud, fallen on hard times, Plagued by sexual assault scandals. Have very one sided rivalries with better programs. 100,000 seat stadiums where fans watch the team lose. Got rekt by James Franklin.
