If there were a 6th SEC team, or a team fighting for that 5th spot in this mythical projection, it would be Arkansas.
I believe that with the toughest OOC schedule in the nation, Arkansas will have an RPI through the roof.
With Arkansas 2nd in the nation every year in attendance and previously set Regional and Super Regional attendance records, I wouldn't be surprised if Arkansas hosted with no better than a .500 SEC record and a winning OOC record.

Its ok guys.. SC plays Long Beach State in a series I believe in the 2nd or 3rd weekend.. after we sweep them maybe that should shut up his West Coast mouth for a while.
And to the Arky fan talking about attendance.. thats great and all but its skewed to some degree.. SCs stadium last year fit like roughly 5,000 people if even.. the new stadium nearly doubles that. Hell even last year SC was in the top 25 in attendance for basketball with a 14-18 record.. but thats because our average attendance of around 12,000 was still more than Duke's can even hold.
Point being its always great to support your teams and the more conference-wide support for a sport can only be positive but I was just taking a pro-SC approach to it.

Excluding the Pac 10 there is also Fresno State and Cal State Fullerton. Both are historical powers.
Fullerton is a historical power, but Fresno is not. The only reason to mention Fresno is last year. Pepperdine, Long Beach, those are good programs historically and now. The WCC, Pac 10, and Big West are all great baseball leagues. One of the reasons is that that there less schools out west in an area with a huge amount of talent. There are 13 D-1 programs in Lousiana, Texas has somewhere in the 20s, the Carolinas have almost 30 between them, and then you have Georgia and Florida with a crapload of schools also, but without the population density that California has.
