I was in Waterford not long after Bama's crystal ball was broken in 2012, touring the crystal facilities. The tour guide called the person that broke it a "clumsy arshole".
But I digress. I got to see the replacement before it was fully completed. It was pretty cool.

I knew it would no longer be given on the field, but I assume it will still go to the winner of the Coaches' Poll.

Since the beginning of the poll era (1938ish) we've finished #1 in at least 1 of the 2 major polls a total of 10 years. The only one during that period where we didn't finish #1 in either poll but the university still claims is 1941.
