I knew I would stir up a hornets nest.

Serious LSU fans. You are the bottom of the league in hospitality. That's from 30 years of going to games there. Your mods are great here. I will give you that although I might get thrown out for this post.

I have only been to Columbia twice but you guys are next after LSU.

I used to say UT fans sucked but they've been tamed by their teams poor performance.

Bama rednecks are some of worst fans i have come across. However the very small % that went to school their are some great fans.

Well, you are certainly qualified to make a statement. Sorry your experience wasn't better. But again, I have never seen anyone throw a drink on anyone at any game ever. I have been to all but 2-3 home games over the past 15 years.

I have been to Bama, it was okay...I didn't get the red carpet treatment, but I wasn't mortified.

I had a BLAST in Baton Rouge last year. Best away game I have ever been to.

Thanks. Was a great football game. People forget that AU tied the game with 32 secs left and that game probably should have gone to OT. A great game in a great series.

Auburn won, but it wasnt worth trash talking about. I think we were just shocked as hell as to the way it turned out like it did.

FWIW, most folks have a good visit to Auburn. I recall the last time the USCe people came, they were also complimentary.

Yeah, you are probably right.

This stuff is pretty common I guess.

I have been to LSU, OM, Bama, Barn, UGA, and UT and have never been treated poorly. It's a football game, I don't mind a little talking and all.

It's always in good fun and I have never felt threatened or had anything thrown at me. Maybe I don't cause fights because I am not liquored up, though....

I just love these threads where someone pulls out their giant paint brush of stupidity and tries to paint a negative picture of an entire fan base for everyone as though none of us have ever been to any of these places or know how full of shite these types of threads are.

One would wonder why you have chosen to subject yourself and (gasp) your loved ones to being "cussed at and/or treated disgustingly" for at least ten years running. Let me suggest you re-evalaute your need to endure such terrible, terrible pain.

For those of you to whom "the worse" LSU fans are playful, generous, and fun: Keep on comin'! I've got some gumbo, boudin, and a cold beer waiting for you outside.

Bama fans take themselves too seriously and that's what shite talkers feed off of.

exactly, it happens every year when LSU plays a big OCC game or bowl. Some Oklahoma or Oregon fan goes to said teams fan site and tell horror stories about how LSU fans killed their mom and raped their dog.

Are you saying when you come to Baton Rouge every person you run into curses you?

Interesting.

Don't get me wrong. I actually enjoy the hostility. Its fun. That's why I keep going. But I noticed AU fans were a step above this weekend and wanted to give them credit. And yes I encountered probably 500-1000 on the way out. The worse thing I heard was "go home bammer". In 2010 I was in Columbia and got cussed by all types (women and children included). Had drinks thrown on us up close and from the upper deck. I think its fun as long as it doesn't get violent and I haven't seen that since the 80's at a UT game. No drinks thrown on us at Baton Rouge ever, but I've been cussed by 12 year old and had old ladies (who seemed very classy otherwise) be completely rude to me and my wife. I will always go back to BR. We stay in NO and love the trip other than the fan treatment.

I feel I must share my own story of horror I was subjected to while attending a Auburn vs LSU game a few years ago.

It was myself, my wife, and our 4 yr old son walking by a LSU tailgate of about 10-15 people. There was this vicious dog that these LSU trash people had on a leash. It looked and acted like a killer. I'm not sure but I believe it was the known killer breed Cocker Spaniel and it looked at least 4 months old. Before I could stop the vicious attack, this crazed (and probably diseased) animal ran up to my son, jumped up on him and proceeded to viciously lick him all over his face. And how did these LSU people react to this unwarranted attack? By laughing! Yes, they laughed.

And on top of all this they forced me and my wife to stand there and eat their food and even drink some of their beer while we all watched a sick game of bloodsport play out between my child and their killer Spaniel puppy as they fought tooth and nail over a rubber chew toy. It was an experience that left us all scarred.

I was in Auburn for the Iron Bowl and was treated well, both before and after the game by the Auburn Family. Special thanks go out to the Auburn tailgaters who poured me a BIG shot of Maker's Mark! Thank You!!!

Made my first trip to Tiger Stadium a week ago and I have to say that LSU fans that I encountered were either polite or indifferent. Perhaps it was the weather, but I think some of it may simply be that the high price of attending college games has priced out the trash that was responsible for most of the bad behavior. I also think that A&M fans might have been given good treatment in response to overwhelmingly positive reports from visiting fans who have been to Kyle Field, but then again, maybe fans are just starting to realize that there's nothing to be gained from being jerks to visiting fans.
