It's probably just a matter of it being a long trip this year. People often plan out the road games they're going to attend well in advance (usually at the beginning of the year) and few from either team thought this was going to be a game that's turned out to be so important.

The wife and I were gonna head up to Knoxville on Monday, for thanksgiving week to see her father. I convinced her to leave yesterday just for a extra day or two to spend time with her family," oh how convenient"!! Got my tickets last night when we got into town!

Yeah, it does take some planning. Although, CSB, I didn't plan my trip out to Autzen this fall until like a month and a half before hand (I found I something going on in Portland, so 2 birds with one stone ). :MSB:

You're right, can't really predict how the teams will really be at a certain point.
