I think SEC was lacking proper officiating during basketball season.
They constant whistles took away all flow and rhythm from the games.

In March Madness, the players are able to show their ability because they are finally allowed to play basketball without 60 fouls per game and a free throw parade.

But how will teams score if the refs allow defense?

The difference between the NCAA tourney thus far and a SEC referreed game is astonishing.

I think part of it is they were told to keep the games moving for tv.

This is the way conferences like the Big-10 have been officiated for a while, and it has helped them to succeed in OOC games.

Honestly if refs allowed this to play we could have been this aggressive defensively all season. If they allow it, our defense is so suffocating that I like our chances against almost anyone.

I'm glad the Gators won, but toward the end of the game I felt like the refs stopped calling fouls on Wisc.

The SEC bball refs are easily the worst in the P5

and the SEC doesn't really seem to care

Haha, I hear you, but if you went to the Wiscy board, they'll tell you a completely different story, lol.

I hate to tell you guys that there really is no such thing as "SEC refs" in basketball. These guys pretty much all call games in multiple conferences. They aren't exclusive to the SEC.

Very true. I can't figure why the differences in the degree of physicality allowed exist between conferences...I'd love to know for sure.

This. However, it is quite apparent that in SEC games, games are called quite tighter. You can see it in the stats. There are NINE SEC teams in the top 20% of free throw attempts per game, clearly indicative that more fouls are called in SEC games.

I understand this fact but their is no doubt refs call it tighter in the SEC which is complete BS. But looking back, maybe that prepared us for where we are now. Who knows
