Last year, Mizzou was plagued by stupid players, record injuries, stupid offensive play calling, as well as inexperience in the SEC.

This year Mizzou is healthy and things have drastically changed.

Will Mizzou perform the same, worse, or better than last year?

Here is a recap that sums up last season. Enjoy:

"I watched that game. I turned it off, too," Richardson said. "It's like watching Big Ten football. It's old-man football. If we execute, nobody in this league can touch us. Period." - Sheldon RichTARDson

I either pulled up, ducked or threw the ball away too quickly because after a while I just expected a Carolina defender to knock me into next week. - Paraphrasing James Franklin, Mizzou Starting QB

What happened to Mizzou on its maiden road trip deep into the heart of the SEC was a blunt warning of what can happen on any given football Saturday when you decide to play a listless, mistake-ridden, self-destructive brand of football. - Bryan Burwell, St. Louis Post Dispatch

It's 3rd and 12. Yost (Offensive Coordinator) runs the QB up the middle. It's 3rd and 2 and Yost opts for a long pass. It's 4th and 15 on Georgia's 35 yard line and Pinkel chooses to do a fake punt with Mizzou down only 4 points and an entire quarter to play.

David Yost, Mizzou OC, never played football. Just wasn't athletic enough.

I think to myself, this can't be real life. It must be a nightmare. And then someone reminds me...

After the South Carolina embarrassment, Franklin talks about his shoulder, "It's still bothering me, but I did the best I could." When reporters ask Pinkel about his quarterback situation, Pinks responds with, "James Franklin is our quarterback," even though Berstresser won a hard game against Arizona State and had a respectful drive for a touchdown against South Carolina.

Coaches refuse to adapt.

Prospects of Mizzou Football reaching a bowl game if Drinkel and Yeast remain loyal to the floundering QB...

At this rate, our chances of success are dwindling rapidly...

Prospects of Mizzou Football reaching bowl game if our coaches put in our gunslinging backup QB...

To all you "I told you so" haters...

In reality, even if yall improve substantially, how many more wins can you expect? Let's say you beat Kentucky and Tennesee. Who else are you expecting to beat? Not trying to rain on the parade, my point is that you need to accept a coaching overhaul (which it seems you recognize it).

Well, we beat Kentucky and Tennessee last year. I see no reason why we cannot do it again.

Also consider that we were beating Georgia until the 4th Quater when Jarvis Jones became a one man wrecking machine. Also consider that we had an inexperienced Freshman O-line due to injuries, we were without our star running back, our number 1 receiver had no college experience, our starting QB was hurt, and our OC was an idiot.

We played Florida in an even game in the Swamp. The last drive of the game, Mizzou drove the ball down the field and setup one last play to throw into the end zone. That pass did not go our way. Florida won.

We lost to Syracuse in another close game that we play awfully.

Vanderbilt. Where do I start? We lost by 4 points and we played our inexperienced backup QB. Vandy won fair and square.
__________________________

The point I'm making is that Mizzou, as a healthy team, could have easily had quite a different record last year.

Mizzou was one of the most injured teams in the history of college football, yet we played even with healthy teams like Florida and Vanderbilt and lost by less than a touchdown to both. We played even if not better than Georgia until Jones single handedly wrecked our 4th quarter. We should've won the Syracuse game as well.

Now we're healthy, we have a new OC who is a southern guy and actually knows the game (versus the man-girl Yost from last year). Our star running back is healthy. DGB has experience and is set to make a far larger impact than last year. Pinkel is in a do-or-die fight for his job. He has no wiggle room for mediocrity.

I see no reason why we shouldn't be better than last year...think about it.

Last year, Mizzou was weak and irrelevant.

This year, see last year.

Last year, Mizzou was incredibly injured and still played great healthy teams well (ie. Florida and Georgia)

Logic is not your friend.

So, you're saying that a more experienced team that is healthy and returning nearly everyone including a star running back who didn't play last year will be the same or worse than last year?

Makes sense.

We'll see.

Missouri will win at LEAST 8 games this year. If they stay healthy, they will be in the hunt for the East title. If their good luck matches the level of bad luck they had last year, they could make Atlanta.

I can only hope for your statement to come true.

Won't happen though. Mizzou is the Chicago Cubs of college football. Cursed.
