Oh, there have been several SEC schools that put in astro turf or artificial turf throughout the years. Florida, Bama, Vandy, Tennessee just off the top of my head. When Doug Dickey was at Florida they used to call it Doug's rug.
The land grant/AG schools never did. Auburn, Mississippi State, Louisiana state, Georgia, etc.
The cost to maintain real grass is super expensive but money is flowing like a river in the SEC right now.
