There are tons of great basketball coaches out there. Kentucky has the Alabama football issue - your coach has to be more than a coach, they have to be confident and in control enough to be a figurehead.

It’s a fair point.

This would be my big concern with Scott Drew. Pretty good coach but he’s about as charismatic as a wet napkin. Nobody gives a shite about Baylor. Is he up for this?

Settle for?? LMAO. UK is going to get an upgrade. Cal had a great run for several years but has had trouble maximizing the elite NBA talent to deep runs in the tourney. He can recruit NBA guys and runs a NBA philosophy which makes those guys draftable and early contributors.
He is not one of the better coaches in the SEC any longer. This is proof by his conference record and early exits. Buzz Williams is a better coach with less talent js

Drew is the only name on that list that is at all realistic. Let's try to keep the fantasy talk confined to other threads.

This is for realistic possibilities if Drew turns them down next.

The fact that like half the names on your list already turned them down for starters.

Because this coaching search has already demonstrated they can’t just go get who they want. They will get who they can.

Otzelberger seems like an obvious choice but it could be tough to convince boosters to pony up for his big buyout.

I'm just happy for the change. It was past time. Look forward to supporting whomever our new coach is.
