I've even upped my Tennessee expectations

Yes, we are aware of your current obsession. It's been quite difficult to miss.

Im going back through our schedule, I cant find a team that has snuck up on us since 2011 UK, so its not normally

Maybe "sneaks up on them" was the wrong term. I meant more like sneaks one out. You all have had a few 50-50 games in the bag then melted down.

You keep saying that but it's just not accurate. We play each other this year; so we should be more concerned that usual about each other's teams

OK that makes more sense, I agree. Games where we may not be favored to win, but make it a game and then let it slip away late

10-2 isn't unrealistic as an expectation, but to say that's the floor is just silly. UT could easily drop all 4 games in that stretch.

:kige:

The melt from that would be something to see

No joke (but you'll probably write this off as trolling) I predict Mizzou will finish higher than Tennessee this season.

I know TN is loaded with talent, but I'm not convinced Butch can capitalize on the talent he's recruited.

Butch = great recruit, below average coach.

No joke. I think you've eaten too many lead paint chips.

And that tendency makes me wary of a locked-in prediction for UT. The talent is there, but can Butch avoid pitfalls that have doomed him in the past to win the close games that you have to win to be a division, much less conference, champion.

Those pitfalls have largely been depth issues.

That's a fair enough and logical response, but you have to acknowledge that Butch makes some questionable decisions. The question is if the extra depth and Shoop (looking at UF last year) can help keep those bad decisions from being game-losing decisions.

Prof,

TN has beaten Mizzou 1 in 4 attempts and TN's sole victory was against the worst Mizzou team since 1999, a team that nearly quit the season due to threatened boycotts.

Forgive me if I'm not sold on Butch. Every year Vol fans say TN is back, that TN will finally destroy Mizzou, and that TN will win the East.

I've yet to see it happen.

Last year TN beat Mizzou's worst team in over 15 years 19 - 8 and only scored 3 points in the entire second half. That isn't a team that looks like a world beater.

UT has 3 non-con and 4 east opponents that are wins. I say you go 2-3 in your 5 other games to go 9-3.

Tennessee completely dominated Mizzou in every facet of that game, don't let the score fool you. It was also like 25 degrees at kickoff and the passing game was going to be nonexistent.

Missouri had 61 yards of total offense at halftime. Missouri had 129 yards total offense until a drive with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter against Tennessee's backups and freshmen.

Every coach makes questionable decisions every game. Butch's have largely been oversold because that's what happpens when teams blow multiple leads. You do that and you earn heat. However, a two point conversion didn't cost us the Florida game - a defense that was out of position and spying the QB did. That defense collapsed multiple games and almost collapsed more. That's why Jancek got shite canned.

That said, offense still has to get better at the passing game for us to get to where we need to be this year and that is on Jones, especially since he didn't fire Azzani.
