Here's how I see it:

1. Alabama
RIght now its not even close. I think both Auburn and Georgia have teams that could potentially challenge Bama by the end of the year, however at this point in the season Bama looks head and shoulders above the rest.

2. Georgia
This team keeps getting better each week. While I don't want to get too far ahead, I just don't see any team in the East matching Georgia this year.

3. Auburn

The offense still looks like it needs some help, but their defense is scary good. If they can just start to see a little improvement on the offensive side of the ball, they could be a force later on in the season.

4. Mississippi State
Many folks will put Florida in this slot, but I don't think anyone in the East deserves a ranking that high. State is not a great team but after manhandling LSU, they have to rank above LSU at this point. So 4th is the only logical slot.

5. LSU
LSU does not look like a good team, but until someone else beats them there is no other logical spot.

6. Texas A&M
The Aggies are a young team and their offense has some playmakers. They could easily spoil someone's season. Many will say Florida should be ranked 4th or at the worst 5th or 6th, but does anyone actually think that Florida could keep up with Texas A&M on the scoreboard?

7. Arkansas
The Hogs loss to TCU doesn't look so bad now. Arkansas trailed by just 7 points with 3 minutes to play in the game. They proved they are very close to A&M figuring their game went to Overtime. If A&M is 6th, Arkansas is a very close 7th. I'm not sure that this Arkansas team is as bad as some of their reviews.

8. Ole Miss
Could Florida keep up with Ole Miss on the scorebaord? I don't see it. If you put the Rebels and the Gators on a neutral field, I don't see anyway that Florida scores more points than Shea Patterson and Ole Miss.

9. Florida
They did not belong on the same field with Michigan. They needed a miracle to beat Tennessee (who nearly lost to UMass). They probably should have lost to Kentucky. Somehow Florida stands at 2-1 despite being outplayed in all 3 games this season. This team is currently being outgained by 83 yards on average each game. No they are not the 4th best team in the league. I don't think they could beat a single team in the SEC West which is why 9th is the highest they should be ranked.

10. Kentucky
Well they should have beat Florida and they beat South Carolina. I don't think there is anywhere else to rank this team right now.

11. Tennessee
The Vols should have probably beaten Florida in Gainesville. The near loss to UMass looks bad.

12. South Carolina
The win over NC State looks pretty good. But how did they lose so badly to Kentucky at home?

13. Vanderbilt
So how bad is Kansas State?

14. Missouri
This looks to be one of the worst teams the SEC has produced in years. They are abysmal and may not win another game. I see no way that Odom can survive this season.

Did you watch the last game between these two teams? I did, I was in the stands. Our OL got butt fricked into oblivion. At a neutral site we might fare a little better. I still believe we would lose though to FL if we played tomorrow.

We should be ranked 14th until we beat another SEC team.

I think I agree with this though I think everyone from 5 to 13 is basically a toss up.

Missouri is clearly the worst, though.

Losing by ten is losing badly?

I'll tell you how. Kentucky protected the ball after early turnovers and we missed 10 points worth of field goals/PATs

no doubt about this. That said, I think Bama has vast room for improvement between now and end of the year, too.

Too much football to play for rankings. Bama, AU, and UGA: One of these will be the SEC champion. Injuries will determine. The group behind these three consist of TAMU (I think they are a threat with their O), UF, UK (strange), and MSU. The rest of the league is really bad.

Probably so. Of those three, only AU has to play the other two, so their margin for error is smaller.

It is, but we could conceivably lose to UGA and get a second chance in the SECCG.

It makes sense to have Auburn at #3 based on what we've seen...but I'm telling you, Auburn's offense is a f***ing dumpster fire. This will be evident when we play a D with a pulse...and just like last year, we'll 3-and-out against any decent D, until our D tires from being on the field all game and will start to wither. I really don't think, overall, that AU is much better than any of the other West teams...and can and will lose to some of them.

While there appears to have been some struggles, I think some Auburn fans appear to be overplaying them. Auburn ranks 6th in the SEC and 68th nationally in Total Yards per game.... Disappointing? Maybe. "Dumpster Fire"?.... that seems like a bit of an exaggeration.

Here's where I think you are wrong:

*Stidham ranks 1st in the SEC and 9th nationally in completion percentage.
*At this same point in the season, he has a better completions percentage, a better QB Rating, and he's averaging over 25 more passing yards/game compared to Sean White in 2014.
*Unlike Jeremy Johnson in 2014, it does not appear that Stidham is the type of quarterback who's going to throw a ton of interceptions.

And most importantly, Stidham just looks like a pretty good QB with tons of potential. For one, he's got at least 3-4 inches of height compared to White. Sean White was scrappy, but he just looked like he was always a play away from getting injured.

As long as Stidham can stay healthy, I think he'll continue to improve with more experience and Auburn will continue to get better each week. While my honest opinion is that Auburn will lost to both Bama and Georgia at the end of the season, I think LSU in Baton Rouge is the only game Auburn could potentially lose (barring a major upset) between now and the Georgia game. I just don't get all the negativity from some Auburn fans.

Paraphrasing, but

quote:

LSU: no other spot they could be

UF: didn't belong on the same field with Michigan.

UF deserved to be on the same field with Michigan more than LSU deserved to be on the field with MSU.

As of right now, it's a 2-team conference. Florida's lucky horseshoe will eventually dislodge from it's arse and everyone else in the SEC SEC will be jockeying for bowl position
