They designed it to be a smaller more intimate arena, kind of like Cameron Indoor, which only seats about 9500. The roof is also much lower to capture crowd noise, but we gotta get a crowd in there first. All the seats are very close to the court. I think the farthest away is about 42ft.

FWIW I read an article Wednesday night that said Ole Miss officials were there checking it before the game a few nights ago. They were looking for ideas for a new facility, and apparently Pete Boone is on board with the plan.

No room to talk.

Your arena is one the worst I've ever seen...

I'm just wondering???

Do you realize that about 1/5th of that crowd sights are directed at the bleachers instead of the court?

Just look at those seats... The ones in the corners could almost see half the court without straining their neck...

I fixed the link, but I'll post it again for ya.

Basic summary... UM officials were checking out the Auburn Arena. Boone says they definitely have to have a new basketball arena. Might consider a multi purpose facility that meets other areas of need around campus as well.

To quote Boone, "“It’s on full speed"

With the update two years ago, Thompson Boling Arena is the nicest in the SEC.

Rupp is still the best gameday venue. They just need to build a new arena. Especially since U of L built the Yum Center. It blows Rupp away.

Needs an update:

Very nice:

8. Coleman Coliseum

That place is going on 50 years old, renovations notwithstanding. We need a new facility.

Did they add seats or something? What kind of renovations? It always looks small to me when yall are on TV, and never seems to get very loud on TV. Never been there in person so I cant really judge first hand.

I believe so. A lot of the student parking is around that area. Not sure where campus "ends" though.

They didn't add any seats but they totally retooled the appearance. They put in an exterior glass facade going from the roof to the ground to give it a modern look. The concourses were widened and pictures of UGA athletes were added, and the restrooms and concessions were overhauled as well. I've been to Coleman twice, and there is no way it should be ranked ahead of Stegeman.

Taking into account size and how nice the facilities are I`d go: 1) Rupp Arena 2) Bud Walton 3) USCe (Colonial Life) 4) UT (TBA) 5) Auburn 6) Florida 7) Vandy 7) Bama 7) MSU 10) LSU 11) UGA 12) Ole Miss

Not that LSU gets on tv that much especially here in Texas, but how many school position the main TV camera to see the backs of the heads of the players and coaches on bench during play? I know they are trying to sell more ads across the court, but I cannot stand it.

Do not get alot of sec games here, so maybe others do it. It just makes Maravich look even less appealing than it already is.
